As a sincere fan of yours and the channel I find it really enjoyable to see the joy you feel and enthusiasm you present while with the family sharing your passion. Well done, again.
Used to get around 25 to 27 going from UK to south of France, so well done. Loved the XJ until an idiot rammed it sideways at a junction whilst I was stationary. Beautiful countryside to see too.
Looks like you all had a great time Adam so glad you were able to avoid an accident and the country side was truly pretty and the XJ6 was fantastic so congratulations on your trip looking forward to your next video best regards Andy Allen.
A journey like that is an "Italian tune-up". Seriously, a good long run burns off deposits and forces fluids into places they are needed ina way that short trips just can't.
Glad the car did you proud ! And no need for Aircon with the damp weather ! At the start of the video I thought you said you were being followed by a Daimler 250 V8... now that would have been impressive... hope you get to fix or drive one some time.....
Glad you had a wonderful holiday, beautiful location! Shows that driving your Jaguar daily shows that this classic is just reliable as a more modern vehicle. Hope you repair your XJ 12, it is begging to be driven, as well as the XJS.
@@LivingWithAClassic I'm very glad you are busy Adam! That shows people trust your judgement and your work. Hopefully in-between customer projects you can find sone time to work on your XJ 12. And hopefully you can take the beautiful XJ-S out with the top down, nothing like a convertible, even in the winter, with the top down!
What speed were you driving at and what final drive ratio do you have in the old xj, I don't think my dads series 2 o/d manual ever got that fuel mileage. Maybe you are an expert xk tuner 🙂you answered my question about the axle ratio. Dads old xj was doing 3000 rpm at 145 Km/h in o/d. Long drives are Good for cleaning out the rings and getting good compression maybe.
A well tuned fuel injected straight six with highway/motorway gears, no matter the brand, is a happy medium between economy and performance. What is the Swedish story behind all the rustic red painted buildings with white trim?
The XJ6 is the perfect car for a long trip like that. 25 MPG is impressive!
It was great on the long trip!
Always a joy to see a with all its problems run a long trip. Glad you are safe!

Well done Adam . There are rare occasions when you have to be selfish and just think of you and the family coming first . Thanks Adam😊
Absolutely! It was nice to spend some time with family
Very cool! Glad to see you had a fun trip with family, and your car ran great! Thanks Adam!

Looks like a great trip. Thanks for sharing what you could. Beautiful countryside.
I’m glad you liked it!

Cool trip and happy that it was reliable!
👍🇦🇺 Nice one Adam.
Thanks!
It looks like you certainly had a nice time!
I really did!
Video approved, enjoy.
I was surprised to see a Circle K gas station . Here in Arizona we have them everywhere .
We have them everywhere here too

It was a Daimler Super V8 so not quite that cool but still very nice
Glad you had a wonderful holiday, beautiful location!

Yes if they’re used they’ll be reliable. The XJ12 will get some attention as soon as I get a chance. A lot of customer cars lined up

Excellent fuel economy - engine must be in good fettle.
It’s almost new, has about 10,000km or 6,000 miles on it

Hi Adam can you put carbs on a v12 ser 1
like 21 !
I thought you weren’t quite happy with the 123-distributor, and went back to the OE? Contemplating getting one for my Rover SD1…
No I love it! I had a misfire that ended up being water in the fuel and not ignition related.
Where did the route organized by the club go?
Around the lake by the hotel

Well it’s on twin SU carbs but still gets good mileage
@@LivingWithAClassic Even more impressive.
DS 420, shame about the colour.
