Christmas 1993 was one of my most memorable times, because that was the year I got the Jurassic Park Command Compound. I remember Jurassic Park toys being everywhere. I mean, in stores that normally didn't carry toys, they were just everywhere. Grocery stores, department stores, Toys R Us, Wal-Marts, Kmarts, Service Merchandise, Venture stores, sporting good stores, furniture stores, it was crazy. Kaybee Toys was around that's where my Mom had found the JP Compound on a sale, and bought it for me. Truly was the best Christmas! I still have all of the pieces to this day, and have picked up a few more along the way (fences, etc.). Last I knew, the electronics did work (crosses fingers), but it's been years since I've opened up the boxes that my old Kenner Jurassic Park toys are in. Once I clean my office out, I'll have to do an unboxing as they are are the top of my animation studio's closet. 😜 It's so nostalgic to hear those JP Command Compound sounds! And your homemade Kenner-style fences at 4:24 are absolutely amazing! You did an incredible job of making them so similar, that I almost thought you had melted and torn apart a non-broken piece of fence, lol. I'm always on the look out for intact or broken Kenner fences, for display, at the very least, haha!
That was seriously the best year ever. I got the Trike, water spitting dillophosaurus, Ellie & grant for Christmas. I used to try to build the compound out of Legos 😅 I read the novel in 93, but my parents were super religious so we were not allowed to go to movie theaters LOL the sears catalog wishbook was my favorite thing to look at, the jurassic park page was so awesome. I've been meaning to make a build video on broken style Kenner Fence, I'll try to fit it in this winter!
@@jurassicparkingplastic7258Oh man, a JP Visitor Center out of legos, to scale with the Kenner figures would have been huuuge and awesomeness!!! My older brother and I had legos growing up. I never thought about building like the rotunda or the Utility shed or Bunker or Raptor Pen out of legos. Dang, missed childhood memory, lol. That's a bummer about not seeing it theaters. I live in the Bible Belt here in the US, and when Jurassic Park was out, and the theaters were packed, our churches started having viewings of the film so more people could see it. I think, looking back at it now, because God is mentioned by Malcolm, as "God Creates Dinosaurs, God Destroys Dinosaurs, God Creates Man, Man Destroys God,, Man Creates Dinosaurs." 😅 You know what, even better we have all that creativity now, so our parents wouldn't throw our stuff out or end up in garage sales. 😅
