    Actually I did buy this for my wife at Christmas. It also works great as a spare machine to keep in my vehicle for unexpected digs. I appreciate that you always emphasize proper etiquette in you videos - great examples given. Mine Lab should give out free piggy banks for clad with every ML XTP purchase :)
    Keep up the great work, Mark! Thanks!

    Hi, does threshold increase depth? newbie here! I could not stand that constant hum 😊but I was thinking if turned everything up and turned the volume right down or even off and onto vibrate that I could get the best depth and just dig everything that isnt iron. I watched another vid that showed gold rings and bits with numbers all over from real low to high!

    • @BrassMedic
      @BrassMedic  28 дней назад

      Hello, these are great questions. So threshold is simply a feature that allows you to hear a constant hum to let you know the machine is in fact on and in most circuits on most machines the threshold will cut out each time the machine scans over any metal that is being discriminated out. This is helpful if your in a field for example trying to locate a long lost structure. You are really wanting to hear all of the iron from the nails, etc so we can know where the iron area begins and where it ends. Having threshold on can tell you when you start to get into an area where the iron is. Some folks can't stand threshold and I totally get that. But for the professional who wants every possible advantage, they may decide to use it all the time for the reasons above. You are going to want to use the vibrating handle all the time anyways so I would leave that on. It's just another sensory input that will help you get a feel for what the machine is trying to tell you. So now you can See, Hear and Feel signals. I also would advise that you don't get hung up on digging based on just numbers. You want to make sure that when you swing over a signal that it's repeatable and when you turn 90° and swing over it again if it's still repeatable and the range of numbers you're seeing is a small range, then you should dig it. If it's gold it's gold if it's silver it's silver the machine is trying to tell you that there's something there and it will be a surprise when it's gold or silver but there is really no way to look for just gold or silver. Just really learned to listen to the Integrity of the signal, anything that breaks up a lot or doesn't sound constant is probably not worth digging until you learn the machine. In my one-on-one training sessions I'm always shocked when my students are completely confused by how many signals ignore. It just takes a lot of hours to learn the sounds of your machine to know which signals should Peak your interest. I hope this all helps! Thank you for the view, comment and great questions!

    Hey Mark i have the Minelab X-Terra Pro machine also and i love it but i don't turn the threshold on cause it is annoying to listen to but i have found some good stuff with it

    • @BrassMedic
      @BrassMedic  9 месяцев назад

      Yeah one thing that I should have pointed out in the video it is not a true threshold so they're almost as really no reason to have it on unless you want to hear the threshold brakes over iron so that you know when you're in heavy iron. But some people just can't handle the constant sound of a threshold no matter how useful it is. I totally get that! Thank you for leaving a comment and for your view!

    Hello, could you provide information about the maximum depth this machine can detect metal or gold? . thank you

    • @BrassMedic
      @BrassMedic  7 месяцев назад

      The maximum depth really depends on the size of the item or Target and the size of the coil on the machine those are two major factors. Generally speaking you can detect a coin size object at a distance that is the length of the search coil Plus the width of the search coil divided by two. I hope this makes sense. Larger targets can be heard deeper and smaller targets are not as easily detected. This machine has very good depth for this budget range and is absolutely one of the best machines that you can buy at this price this includes depth of detection. Thank you for your view and for your question!

      Hi, yes, it sounds like they are on the same frequency. So depending on what brand/model of metal detector you have and even the pinpointer you can change frequencies on either the machine or the pinpointer to stop the crosstalk. Lmk what machine and pinpointer you have and I can give you more advice on how to do that. Thank you for the view and comment!

      It looks like others I've already answered this for you, so no need to do a factory reset when you change your coil. I will say that just so you know you can use Equinox coils on your Xterra Pro but not the other way around. In other words your Equinox detector will not recognize the extra Pro coil. Somebody else already answered your questions perfectly. I have all of the pinpointers made by the major manufacturers and use them all. My favorite is the XP MI-6 and the new Nokta Accupoint. hi, strange situation with x-terra pro, it seems that this detector doesn't see large targets made of aluminum, brass, copper and other non-iron metals! can you check this?

    • @BrassMedic
      @BrassMedic  7 месяцев назад

      Thank you for the view and comment/question! This sounds like there is a problem with the coil not being plugged/screwed in all the way, or another problem with coil damage or perhaps machine damage? This machine excels at detecting large conductive targets and they will sound off loudly!! Please contact your dealer and see if that can help you troubleshoot your problem. This is not normal at all!

    • @SeregaKusj
      @SeregaKusj 7 месяцев назад

      @@BrassMedic how big items you checked? problem not only with my detector, a lot of people have already noticed this... for example, ww2 aluminum flask, x-terra pro see only on 5kHz, on 10 and 15 no any reaction, non ferrous metals targets, larger than flask, not visible at all frequency!
