I was kicked from a Play4Free server on 1942 for no reason whatsoever. I might've done a mistake or two that I didn't realize but I don't why the fuck that got me kicked.
So many sleepless nights I had in 2002-2005 from this game, my fondest memories date all the back to grade school waiting for class to end, coming home all ready to get into battle and play until 2 in the morning.
Battle Of The Bulge was hell. I was playing a bot match and we were so close to winning the German ticketes were scrapping the empty bottom then I went out of the town with the church(that was our last and only flag everything else was lost)for a bit. While scouting around I see captured Shermans,Panzer IVs and German Infantry(thank god the bots were too stupid to get the Wespe or Tiger back from the spawns)once I got back we fucking immediately lost when the Germans broke though from the side and captured our flag long enough for our tickets to finish. I swear the only time I got so close to winning as the Allies on that map and I failed.

@@kradgger Two things, firstly, the MEC theme sounds only superficially like 1942's menu theme at best. Second, 2004 hardly counts as a "remaster" the two games ran on the same engine for christsake. I think what 3197 means is a remake in the style BF4 remade the PLA theme for Community Operations, or the multiple remakes they did of the original loading theme for BF1943 and as an easter egg in BF4 respectively.(not to mention being remixed for almost every game) Even the old intro music got a remake. So why haven't we heard any of the other music from 1942 make a comeback? Particularly this one, and the two scores that play when you win or lose a match, all three are catchy and memorable, and would serve as a nice reminder to those of us who care that DICE still remembers this game.
This is the track! Finally found it. The main theme is great but this is the one that I have popping into my head every few weeks when I am doing something random. This game was totally next level! This music meant you were in the right place ;)

My childhood, I played this a lot along with the first and second Call of Duty, I played BF1942 for the multiplayer and the first CoDs for the campaign, both were really awesome.
And Battlefield 2, cause it has a still running modding community and Forgotten Hope 2. God i love Firgotten Hope 2. And Project Reality, there is so much content in a single BF2 mod, it makes BF3 look like a demo. And why hasnt BF3 and BF4 (trust me) a modding community? Because EA and Dice think that Frostbite is to complex for non demigods. But youre right BF 1942 is on of the best.
It's such a shame this piece doesn't get as much love or attention as the main theme everyone knows and loves. Someone should do a ytpmv or some sort of cover via midi or otherwise of this!

The other day I was playing 2042 and this song began playing mid round, probably played my best round of battlefield ever that round! Perhaps it’s the nostalgia, but god this song is just pure gold.
I remember when I was little and playing this game online. I was pretty bad. I remember that one time in Wake the Japanese team took all the flags and there was a lone US player trying to take the flag in the airfield. A group of Japanese players surrounded him and they all started a knife fight. The US player managed to somehow kill two of them before dying and ending the game. Good times
I remember El Alamein clear as day, as well as the battle of Britain and Iwo Jima!! Kursk and Stalingrad as well... Gosh so many memories. I played this game in singleplayer my whole childhood. Wish I had tried multiplayer now.
This song, through a melodious rise and fall, shows the homage of the allies in the Western, Eastern, and Pacific front. EA did well with this game, particularly giving us soundtracks like these to give us a moment to remember the heroism of the soldiers during the Second World War.
We need a battlefield 1944 and a battlefield 2143 this time with a story mode(2143 escaping the ice) and (1944 liberating: France, Italy, sicily, and continuing the fight in the pacific and on the eastern front
I just wish they would do what they did for Halo to these games aka put them all ina master re mastered collection and then reopen servers for them all 👍
Epic music. Great game (especially for its time). Imagine if this game were substantially updated, in more recent times... But, then again, there are plenty of more recent Battlefield games since this one, of course.
