Lately, I get a lot of black morris dancers into my yt feed... And I love it! So many of the traditional folk dancers (not just in England, but all over Europe) seem to have forgotten that dancing first and foremost is about enjoying yourself in community, traditional or not. Then they don't find young folks to join, and eventually die out. Now I see all those young black-clad morris dancers, including this group, I see the enormous amount of energy they put into their dance, and as an experienced folk dance fiddler I just know from watching THESE lads and lasses are having a great time! Keep it up! Tradition is about keeping the spark going on, not about worshipping the ashes!
I love it. Splendid performance, brilliant choreography. So very pagan and dark. The music is great, 'The Queen of the Fairies' an old Irish folk tune and so appropriate. Great costumes❤❤
Nah, just sayin mate, long week and battling my own demons. Crack on with ignoring everything else. Shouldn't have vented in the first place.@@stringcus
Looks like a very fun thing to do and loads of cool history too. But you can only have fun if you've got the time. Hope you do find time to have some kind of fun. It's tough when there's so many pressures ❤️
