  • An oval tray made from an old mahogany table top. This tea tray features a experimental marquetry piece in the center, made by cutting a real conch shell to yield a cross section - and using this a part of the inlay. The veneer used to fill the shell is burr sequoia. I used walnut stringing, sycamore cross banding and a full traditional shellac french polish. This tray is made entirely with hand tools and hide glues.
