The mini roller is a rubber mat. I also use it if I want to lie down on the tramps. But on my recent sail I brought one roller like you have. It was great! I also have two of them, and will bring both on my next sail. I think they work excellent. The boat just rolls by itself!
I haven't tried the Adventure Island. But I've read and seen quite a few videos of it. The Tandem island is heavier, longer. It handles more cargo, and feels more like a boat. Sailing alone in the TI works wonderfully. At least for me, the extra space is needed. Having an extra seat is great if someone wants to join me on a trip. A fully loaded TI is heavy to pull up from shore, beach, rocks, etc., but so is a fully loaded AI. I use yoga rollers to pull the boat up from shore, and sometimes take out some cargo, and disasemble the boat. It helps alot. I chose the TI for the various conditions here where I live, and the extra room and cargo/passanger capasity. It's sturdier. The AI might be more fun, more crazy. But, there's guys sailing on very long trips in the AI, aswell. I think you can compare them to the difference between a 4-wheeled and a 2-wheeled motorcycle :)
I know there's been Hobie Islands sailing even in Svalbard :D Google maps: www.google.com/maps/place/Svalbard,+Svalbard+og+Jan+Mayen/@77.2305906,15.4390072,4.79z/data=!4m5!3m4!1s0x45a1cfdc4fa3c049:0x2bf373e71b35e875!8m2!3d77.8749725!4d20.9751821 2-3 years ago there were plenty of whales, even close to shore. They follow the herring. I haven't seen any big whales yet, but there are a few further out. It goes in cycles, so maybe they'll come back next year. This winter they were further north.
My kind of breathtaking! Thank you!
Awesome video and landscape ! Congratulations
Wonderful sail. Glad you got a few puffs of wind to keep up with the paddlers. Like the mini roller. Keep the videos coming!
Big fan of your videos!!!

Spectacular that first shot around the idle kayaks!
I love these videos. It's a real change of pace from some of the beaches and gulf waters you usually see with these boats.
Thanks, I'm glad you enjoy them. See you on the open seas!
Absolutely beautiful!
The water is so clear 😎👍
Yes, in the early spring here, the water is wonderfully clear.
So beautiful landscapes ! Thanks for your great videos.
We have exactly the same HobieTI in France !
It's a fun boat. And I'll be sailing it alot in the summer vacation. I hope you will do, to!
Not a Hobie Island owner yet but I was wondering how you find solo in the tandem? Is it more difficult and did you get a chance to compare both?

Thanks for bringing us along. Such beautifully clean water you have ; )
Seeing an ama with snow in the background makes my brain malfunction. Very Cool. Been wondering if youve seen any whales on your adventures?
