I had my mom play this on repeat in the car when I was 5 🤣 I even had special shoes that I only wanted to wear during this song so I could tap my feet to this song. My mom called them my “dream shoes” and I never knew why she called them that until today 🥺🥺
Probably because the song is called dreams and it was your favorite song on car rides and you tapped you feet to it thats probably what she ment by dream shoes since the song is called dreams but i got to admit for a 5 year old you had good taste in music truly a iconic band linger dreams and zombie she could sing it all
Probably because you were her dream baby and the shoes were holding her dream in them. My daughter just sent me this link and told me this song makes her think of me. We are separated in different states during this 2020 quarantine. She is my dream baby girl.💖 And my son is my dream baby boy. He is in Africa now. 💖 We'll all be reunited soon after all this is over.
The literal voice of an angel BUT with the ever-slightest of rasp that can only come out of the green rolling hills of Ireland. Vocalization melodies as ancient as the land itself, meets modern post-punk 90's instrumentation. What the FUCK more can you ask for. Here's to you Dolores, we lost you too soon.
my old friend and I used to spend hours in the record shop, this was the last one he purchased with me. he was killed 2 weeks later. I miss him and think about him every day RIP my friend. I will see you again. until then only in my dreams.
My Grammie would play this in her house often. So every time I hear it, it takes me back to a different and easier time. I miss her! Also RIP Delores 🌸
There's something just so earnest and wholesome about this song. I really love how it sort of captures the feel of your first love and that giddy happiness, but worry.
I remember first hearing this song on the radio while reading a book. It fit perfectly with the scene and then, a few years later, I happened to be reading the same book, and they played the same song at the same place. It was a bit haunting. And I finally found the song all these years later. I should find that book. It's been a while.
Scott Weiland, Lemmy Kilmister David Bowie, Chris Cornell. Chester Bennington, Dolores O'Riorland....lots of unfortunate losses of great talent these past few years!
Omg, I never realized all these awesome songs were by the Cranberries... I mean, I'd hear em on the radio a few times, maybe in a commercial or two, but I never really put two-and-two together. Awesome!
My mom's music taste is extremely varied so I grew up with a bit of everything and I remember my mom's favorites when I was a kid when she was really happy would be U2, Duran Duran, The Cranberries, and very loud gospel music. But I also grew up on heavy metal like Metallica, Rob Zombie, Korn, Pantera, and Disturbed. But as a kid I really loved all of the cranberries songs even if I didn't understand a lick of what they were saying being that I was probably 4 or 5 when I first heard this song in the 90s.
My dad played the same CD with this song in the car when we were returning back home after swimming years ago and all those beautiful memories come to life when i'm listening to this💞
Man it had to be around 1993, I was 18 driving my 92 Mitsubishi 3000gt twin turbo on the Long Island expressway when I first heard this song. The best driving at night song ever. Love it
Curious, I'm downloading this song to hear it on a roadtrip with my brother, and we're going to my grandma's to pick up my mom. She loves this song too. I'm so emotional right now, I used to hear this when I was a kid, my whole family liked it. :')
I don't believe in heaven but Mrs. O'Riordan will be missed. You touched the lives for those of us privileged enough to have lived in the 90s. There's many childhood memories that resurface listening to this song that (as others have pointed out) we never tire of hearing. When this Earth is gone and the composite elements of our bodies scatter we will all be reunited as one as they return to the stars from whence they came. rip Dolores O'Riordan. Your music and unflinching kindness and spirit will continue to inspire for generations to come. You were truly one of a kind and cemented your place as legend in rock history in sharing with us your remarkable giftedness.
Man her voice is impossibly beautiful. If anyone else did these la-da's it would sound like utter shit, but there's just something so hypnotic in the way she executes it. Amazing song
"then i open and see the person falling here is me" ... "you're what i couldn't find; a totally amazing mind; so understanding and so kind." ... are actually the lyrics.
This is my favorite song to sing and my friends favorite song to listen to me sing. This song puts me on a whole other level when I sing it. I think this is possibly the most beautiful song ever written.
What a fabulous recording. For my money it has one of THE all-time great intros, from Fergal Lawlor's first cymbal whisper through the swelling synths overlaying Noel Hogan's thudding bass, Mike Hogan's terrific understated lead picking, and then finally THAT voice effortlessly moving from whisper to scream, swooping to the heavens then back down again. Every time I hear it, it sends shivers down my spine, makes the hairs on my neck stand, and brings tears to my eyes. A beautiful sound, a beautiful band and a beautiful songstress. God bless you Dolores O'Riordan. You left us music that will stand for all time!
Feel so sad of losing such a legendary singer ever, thanks for growing up along with us on 90s, that was the best moment of alternative rock at all till 2000s, gonna listen to your song and sobbing of your gone always ....
Back in '96 this was my first girlfriends favorite band. Always takes me back thinking about her. Such a good song, and the cranberries music has aged quite well.
This was the song I listened to when I started college last year in 2016. My life was changing in every possible way and it still is. I went from being a high school student to being a college student, and I went from being single to being in a relationship with the best girl I could have possibly asked for and i'm still with her. For me this song marked the beginning of my life which didn't start until I had gotten out of high school and started college. But I like my life in college and I absolutely love my girlfriend who I have a good relationship with and I always will. If there's one word of advice I have to give anybody who ask what that piece of advice I would have to offer is, it would have to be to never stop believing and never stop dreaming because if you dream it and work as hard as you can to achieve it, no matter how impossible it may seem now the work that you do will pay off and thoes dreams that you have will eventually come true. Update : For thoes who don't know me I lost my girlfriend last year in July of 2017. She ended up dumping me and I ended up leaving her. But it's okay because now i'm chasing dowm a new set of dreams. Ready to get my third girlfriend. I know it will happen. My life is still changing in every immaginable way. And I very much look forward to the day that both me and my third and hopefully last girlfriend will get to finally meet. That'll be the day. And I will not give up on my hopes until then. But I will keep on working hard to make both my dreams and my desires all come true.
When she starts going into that Shaman LAAAAAAAAA..My Favorite Part. As a kid I used to always scream it out at the top of my lungs when I would be riding with my mom as a kid. Love me some Cranberries :D
That ending part with her sinigng "ahhhhAhhhh" is so powerful. Makes me cry.. Thank you for your music. Rest in peace. Also "they'll come true. Impossible not to do" tears me up. I love this song.
This song was the first thing that played in my head as my brother died in my arms from getting shot 3 times in the back and all I had the strength to do other then cry was pray to God to send me angels that could help me carry him home to my mom.. and so I carried him a mile and reached our front porch and I put him down softly without one breath wasted into the air, and I fell on to my knees and began mourning for my brother whom I won't be seeing til' we meet again, and my mom ran out of the house screaming and called 911 and I just sat there crying aloud (yes for the neighbors). 😂😭 But I cried aloud for the heavens to hear that I am hurt that they had taken my beloved and only brother, but i also was crying to admit it is his time to go home and be with the lord💜💜 I LOVE YOU BIG BROTHER!!! ALWAYS AND FOREVER!! Til' we meet again✊
I'm crying here you touched my heart sorry for your troubles I should have been gone like your bro but I'mstill here thank God keep the faith god bless your brothers soul lives on forever mind yourself 👌
Oh how heartbreaking sweetheart my heartaches with sorrow for you and your poor mother.God bless your precious late soul.My God bless you and your mother and keep you both safe amen
That made me tear up. Im sorry for your loss. I have 1 older bro who passed away also. And i have 3 other blood brothers tho. We all stay strong. Or try. Cuz lofe can get hard
Rest In Peace, Dolores. You were the voice of my childhood. You got me through my homesickness at college. Thank you for everything. You were a dream to me.
It’s weird how now days you listen to a song and it gets old within a few plays however 80’-90’s music is unforgettable and never gets irritating to listen to
Cisco Martinez good music is always around my friend you just have to look for it, I would recommend cigarettes after sex but seriously dude just look for music and you will find it
Cisco Martinez i remember hearing this song back in 9th grade (2015-2016), so many memories when i was a freshman, literally this song and many others is the ironic symbol of my freshman year.
I remember this song primarily because my older brother and several of his friends got together to practice and perform it at his graduation party in the mid-90s.
Wow. I found this song on total accident just now. I haven't heard this song since the early 2000's. Totally forgot about it. Now I hear it again and a flood of childhood memories come flooding back. So much nostalgia and so much time has passed, and yet it feels like yesterday.
When I was about 10 this song was the most profound thing in the movie the Next Karate Kid. That song has stuck with me all my life. 💔 Rest in peace, Delores O'Riordan.
Ohh...this beautiful song....with such beautiful voice.......such unique way of singing this song.....thats AWESOME... RIP Delores...hope u find happiness at the other side...
This is one of my all time favorite songs, but I can't help but always be reminded of the movie "The Mist" during the end of this song. The ending chorus bit of The Mist is so similar to the end of this song lol
My favorite from The Cranberries. This song is the epitome of the feelings I had for my lover who died in 2017. He was such an amazingly selfless and forgiving person, almost a child-like innocence about him and he could always make me laugh/smile. I was 21 and he was 47. Age is JUST a number. Guys my age are total jerks and this guy was sweet and treated me like gold. We probably would have been married had it not been for his untimely death... His death was ruled a suicide but his daughter swears he was murdered and I'm sure he was. When he died he was severely beaten and he had a shoe imprint on his face so I don't understand why any coroner would call it suicide. No one can kick themselves in the face. His throat was slit which was the cause of death. I know he was murdered but sometimes I wonder if he chose not to fight for his life because he was heart broken over me? We used to be neighbors and mom sold the house so I had to move away and he was still with his wife so I didn't contact him after I moved away. She lived in another city half of the year so I justified sleeping with a married man. I knew their marriage was over with long before I met him. After I moved away he divorced his wife and went looking for me for 4 years straight until he died. I do have regrets. I knew he was looking for me because the cops called me a couple months before he died saying he was going door to door in the entire town trying to find me. The cops contacting me was more of a warning about him than anything else. His behavior in their opinion was a red flag but I knew him and I knew he was totally harmless but I didn't want to involve them at all and the less they knew the better. I had planned on finding his phone number and contacting him but I wasn't quick enough.... Sometimes I wonder if I could have saved him... Sometimes I wonder if I would have been beaten and murdered along with him. I do know I would have put up a great fight to save him but what's done is done and all I can do is remember what an amazing person he was and cherish our memories. It is a shame few knew the real him as I did. I believe few people on earth can compare. Rest in peace David... I'll never forget you.
Oh, my life Is changing every day In every possible way And oh, my dreams It's never quite as it seems Never quite as it seems I know I've felt like this before But now I'm feeling it even more Because it came from you Then I open up and see The person falling here is me A different way to be I want more Impossible to ignore Impossible to ignore They'll come true Impossible not to do Impossible not to do Now I tell you openly You have my heart so don't hurt me You're what I couldn't find Totally amazing mind So understanding and so kind You're everything to me Oh, my life Is changing every day In every possible way And oh, my dreams It's never quite as it seems 'Cause you're a dream to me Dream to me
So hard to believe such an amazing voice has departed, may she rest in peace, would never forget hearing her music for the first time down at Mexico when the radio played zombie back in 2013
It took me a long time to find this song at first. I first heard her beautiful voice compiled with a Norwegian cruise ship commercial ( If I'm not mistaken )...
RIP Delores, your voice was amazing and it inspired us all, may you rest in heaven with God.
William Baron 😭😭
Good by to a great Voice of de last times. We’ll miss you.
I agree. Such a talented singer at such a young age.. I'm honestly still baffled.. I just cried.
as im irish am even more sad what a voice we love you
I never expected Del to be gone so soon! I was hoping she might of been immortal... 💔💔💔
I had my mom play this on repeat in the car when I was 5 🤣 I even had special shoes that I only wanted to wear during this song so I could tap my feet to this song. My mom called them my “dream shoes” and I never knew why she called them that until today 🥺🥺

As a 90s kid I really don't think that any of us get tired of this song.
True Stoned. I was born 92' and love this song, grew up around it for sure.
I am a 55 born adult and don't get tired if it.
StonedDestroyer ok!!! 😁
I'm 12 and I like this kind of music
Summer days. Family road trips. Eighth grade graduation and dances.
This song is so nostalgic and puts me into such a unique mood.
This was a song my mother sang to be when I was a baby, I found so happy to find the song that I had long forgotten the words to

I don't think that is your place to talk down on someone like that. There are tons of comments, no need to bash on one.
Coz nobody cares about your punk ass too
What a great singer she was. Rest easy... ♥
RIP Dolores O'Riordan :( You left us with some of the greatest songs ever made !

Easily one of the most beautiful songs of all time.
I like hearing us fans talk about how we feel when listening to this band. The feeling for me is very detailed, her voice is so beautiful....

She was a true rockstar. In the 90's everybody knew of the cranberries. She was a Queen with celtic voice.
my dad had a karaoke party for his 70th. I sang this. It went down a treat. Dolores was looking after me that night. God rest her
This song was in every coming-of-age movie.
My childhood song😔😔❤️😍😭
Meagen Kasey RIP Dolores. So sad.
I remember this song primarily because my older brother and several of his friends got together to practice and perform it at his graduation party in the mid-90s.
I just rem this without a ‘first memory’. My favourite of all time.
This song is still, and probably will always be, one of the most beautiful songs I’ve ever heard. RIP Dolores! We’ll miss your ethereal voice!
Wow. I found this song on total accident just now. I haven't heard this song since the early 2000's. Totally forgot about it. Now I hear it again and a flood of childhood memories come flooding back. So much nostalgia and so much time has passed, and yet it feels like yesterday.
RIP! 😞💔🙏🏽❤️
Rip Dolores all of our lives changed for the better every time we heard your music. You were a dream to us.

What a great song, RIP Dolores, we miss you.
Sad day. Good music. RIP
Very funny fictional story
RIP Delores. 'Dreams' will be the one I gonna hit repeat tonight. Another part of my wonderful 90s coming to the end.....

This song is pure love.
Derry Girls, anyone?
The Derry Girls soundtrack is utterly fantastic! The Undertones, The Cranberries, and so on!
We're all a Derry girl at heart
Such a good show. Stupid thing had me in tears with this song.
Hannah Christensen
Same. Shows like that never really get too emotional, but when they do, they do it right!
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Oh, my life
Is changing every day
In every possible way
And oh, my dreams
It's never quite as it seems
Never quite as it seems
I know I've felt like this before
But now I'm feeling it even more
Because it came from you
Then I open up and see
The person falling here is me
A different way to be
I want more
Impossible to ignore
Impossible to ignore
They'll come true
Impossible not to do
Impossible not to do
Now I tell you openly
You have my heart so don't hurt me
You're what I couldn't find
Totally amazing mind
So understanding and so kind
You're everything to me
Oh, my life
Is changing every day
In every possible way
And oh, my dreams
It's never quite as it seems
'Cause you're a dream to me
Dream to me
My dad's fave film (You've Got Mail) drove me to this feel good toon. I have this in my playlist now enroute to work. Perfect to start the day ☺️
So hard to believe such an amazing voice has departed, may she rest in peace, would never forget hearing her music for the first time down at Mexico when the radio played zombie back in 2013
love this song grow up on it as a 90's kid lol
I actually have heard this song many times but never really knew the name.
It took me a long time to find this song at first. I first heard her beautiful voice compiled with a Norwegian cruise ship commercial ( If I'm not mistaken )...
it's always sad when someone that makes an impact on so many lives leaves us!!! She will always be missed and LOVED
This song means the absolute world to me, Music can change a person. And that’s a fact🍄🌛🌿
