      @@whitewolf8667for symmetrical lens they are equal.. But if the lens curvature is asymmetrical then they are not..

      Remember,
      Lens Mai image jab bhi object ke side pe form ho (before optical centre O) it means it is a virtual image..
      Agar wo sidhi form Hui hai toh 'erect'
      Aur ulti form Hui hai toh 'inverted'.

    Sir, have u assumed R=2f here?. The R=2f is only valid for spherical mirrors isn’t it?

      Yeah it's true for mirrors.. But if you check then the lens is also made up of joining a 2 small cutout of the spherical ball.. And that's why its R=2f

      All experiments are assumed to conduct at no gravity space..
      Aur gravity consider bhi karoge toh bhi..
      Photons (light) shows negligible deflection to earth gravity..
      So effect can be neglected 😇.

    But my teacher told me that in case of lens radius of curvature is not equal to focus/2 , then how are they equal to e/o here?? Pls clear my doubt, I'm in 12th and came here to revise before starting ray optics..

    While drawing a ray diagram in such cases, how can we identify where to draw focus, 2F1 and 2F2 etc.

      Answer : side from where "incident rays" Are coming is side for 2F1. and other side for 2F2.

      Oh.. I don't know about the distance because it all depends on the lens and it's properties.
      This video shows the logic and understanding behind the image formation.
      I will try to make a video which covers the distance concept as well. 😇

      Don't worry about that..
      Just make sure you draw ray as per the rules..
      It will automatically form an image at the desired location 😇.
