Thank you so much for posting. We immigrated to Colorado from Salzburg when I was a child, but these songs sung by this child were heard every Christmas in our home. My parents are departed now too, but tonight I sit listening with them in my heart
My stepfather played longplay 33's, of Heintje Xmas songs. That would be back in the early 70's. Always found his renditions haunting, but lovely...care free, hopeful. Like a Christmas should be.

Our family is from Klosterneuburg and Weidling Austria 🇦🇹 I have so many wonderful memories. The most beautiful memories are of Christmas music and Christmas Eve. After dinner of Schnitzel, cucumber salad and parsley potatoes, Mom and Dad would close the door to the living room and decorate the Christmas tree. I would lie on the floor trying to see underneath the door crying “Papa, can I come in now “. When the door opened, there stood the most brilliant and sparkling Christmas tree trimmed with homemade cookies and chocolates, lit up with real candles and sparklers; I still remember that heavenly smell. After opening our gifts (usually one for each of us) we would then go to Midnight Mass. We immigrated to Calgary, Canada 🇨🇦 in 1967 when I was nine years old. We kept most of our traditions until my Papa ❤️ passed away in 1996 at the the age of 59 then it became too hard for my Mom (who will be 80 in 2020). Such bittersweet memories that are amplified at this time of year. A blessed Christmas Season is wished to all 🙏🏻🕊

It is interesting to hear the bells at the beginning and the end. Brings me back to my childhood and Christmas eve in Germany. My family would gather around the radio and listen to the special broadcast of the ringing of the Churchbells from the many famous churches and cathedrals in Germany.
Ok I'm homesick now..tears are coming..thank you so much for putting this video on you tube...we left Germany on 1956 I was 13.My fondest memory was coming into the room for Christmas Eve and seeing the Candles lit on the Christmas Tree.We didn't have much but the memories is worth a million. I still light my Candles on the Tree every Christmas Eve.My husband is near by with the Fire Exst. lol
