This is the beauty of it: You see people in the US or in Europe, and they use the best razors and the most expensive stones, and they know all the names of all the brands of anything related to razors, etc. And here you have this barber that uses this wooden contraption with two stones on it, that looked well worn out, and he uses the palm of his hand for a strop. His razor is old and worn too, and yet, somehow, it all works out just fine. 99% technique and skill and 1% products. Just gorgeous!
Yeah sure but I’d 100% rather have a new clean razor then some worn down old one. Not to mention all the diseases and what not that could be accumulated on it from so many different clients.

Eww no thanks. These grooming practices are fun to watch but cause so many health problems in real life. I'll take a new, clean, blade over one sharpened on a dirty old stone and and unwashed hand.

I think He is still using the 1950s type of razor and you know that the whetstone is old as heck and he is using his hands as the strop, thats some old school refined barber skills, takes years to hone and practice and he would have developed the calluses for it. You dont see that kind of skill sets anymore

The idea of going to an old school barber, giving you an old school shave outside while you hear nature arund you would be very therapeutic.
The way he cleans of the hair and strops the razor in one elegant move. He has done this a long time.

Very good technology. A master of his school. Unfortunately, I can only make a 1mm beard cut with the machine and I cut the contours with a razor. I always have problems with ingrown and inflamed hairs when I completely shave. And above all, it itches for days until the new stubble breaks through.
