Boi, this is what I call in depth. Cant ask for much more than that without getting into gamers nexus territory of depth. Most of this can also be seen by just reading up on the board, obviously but it was a very nice presentation, so well done! IMO the Music was a tad too loud and distracted me one or two times, but I am also a musician, so thats maybe on me. xD One way or the other, this was quite nice. This is my dream board for the next big "stay for some years" build. :)
Glad you liked it man! 😉 The board is amazing can't go wrong there 👍 Regarding music, -30dB always, can't be the music, you are just trained to hear it better 😁
I just got this motherboard and I'm still learning it. I have to figure out how to turn off the RGB when I shut down the computer. The Chipset fan worries me because I've seen a couple of people post online about the fan going bad and taking months to get a replacement. Otherwise its nice with tons of features.
Fan is pretty much ok, doesn't go on everytime... In the bios there is an option for keep led when PC is off. Disable that and they will turn off once the PC is off 👍
Exactly my revision too and there is an option, can't remember exactly there but I'll check it if you don't find it. Something like enable led in S5 state or something like that... Look for that and disable it 👍
Nice review! I'm all over this + 5950x + 64gb.... Also: THANK YOU for not using annoying circus music unlike the vast majority of other people making PC review videos. I'm continually lost on what kinds of medication a lot of the "content" producers must be on, when they take a complex topic, where the viewers really need specific details, and then they assault your intelligence with
Would this motherboard be able to handle 4x16 of Cas Latency CL14 3600mhz ram using either a 3900x or 5900x? I already have a 3900x in one build, but would I need to step up to a 5900x to use that much ram with that timing? Please advise...
With 5900X with no issues, with 3900X you might would have to loosen subtimings, but that is just maybe. That memory should be Samsung B-Die and it should work flawlessly 👍
Can you control each RGB LED header on the board through razer synapse as well? I jerry rigged my fans rgb together and was hoping I could control them through the board.
Yup, I had fans connected to it as well on the DRGB, it's working normally, LED strip also but it was 5V one too. On the other hand every part is controlled through the Synapse if it is present (connected) so I think 12V header should work too
Great review. I have the same board and same cpu as you with nzxt z73 aio and reach sometimes 90 c under load. What settings do you have on bios for those temps?
thermal paste could be applied wrong, aio could be defective, airflow in ur case is not enough for the cooling you need, aio cpu block was mounted wrong
Great board and review, I'm surprised at the lack of views with this production quality. I bought it, unfortunately the front audio jack was playing unbalanced on left and right channels (left being louder), I had to test it with multiple headphones, headsets and my old motherboard to reconfirm that the audio jack wasn't spoilt the problem is indeed with the mother board. I've sent it back for replacement, awaiting for the replacement board, could you check if it's not the case on your board? I'm not sure if nahimic audio or driver is doing something funky.
I had crackling on front jacks, but this is due to my GPU having too much EMI that spreads everywhere. If I use PCIE sound card no issues, no issues with external either, if I change the GPU it's less pronounced. But L and R channels sounds the same. Honestly in my opinion, last few years every sound card on board sucks, that is why I recommend using an external sound card. 0 issues, 0 problems. For example, Asus boards, sound is crackling all the time, if you set XMP memory profile 😂 if you set it manually with same specs, no problems... Also thanks you for the kind words, views will go up one day 💪
@@exogeo Dude.... okay... so I could give you a five page rant here... Time to up your game! Get an external DAC that can run good headphones and studio speakers.
I also recommend this, external all day long! 👍Sound is waaaaaayyyyy better, paired with studio monitors and studio headphones, you would hear new sounds you never heard before 😂
@@LevelUPGamingTech BINGO!!! I'm running an older Emotiva DC-1 (XLR Outs to the studio speakers) and it has enough juice to run my earbuds... It has a set of line outs that you can connect dual subs to (I was running Dual SVS PB-1000's on it for a while).
V1 is the primary one, you can use the board by only using that one. That is the power for the CPU socket, if you are planning on overclocking, giving more power to the socket, then use V2 as well.
No you can't you need separate software, BUT if the software has a plugin for Razer Synapse control then you can do it from Synapse. GSkill RGB software allows that and it works pretty much on any ram 👍
