      well... I think they need someone more supportive ASIDE FROM THEIR VERY BAD MOTHER. They need more support from other people so that they will have enough willpower. If I was their mother I would actually care and support them because if they dont get that surgery then it's technically the end. Real mothers would be really caring to them!

I’m sure Amy wasn’t force feeding her sister & they both are to blame, they have equal blame for this shitty situation they put themselves in. And it’s ultimately only up to themselves if they want to change and get out of it, they put themselves in it so they each have to get themselves out of it :/

      Seriously! Amy doesn't HAVE to let her stay or help her AT ALL. Why can't Tammy be the slightest bit grateful. Amy was extremely reasonable saying can't you ask me to get the phone and the other thing at the same time instead of making it two trips. That's what triggered that fight. Selfish Tammy.

    Honestly i think Tammy needs a therapist. I think she needs someone to vent to and can help her work out her guilt and trauma of being bullied and to help her deal with the psychological damage that comes from recognizing you need help but you’re not in a position to help yourself. She’s taking her own frustrations out on her sister. Amy doesn’t deserve that 😔

    • @KFennnny
      @KFennnny 4 года назад +60

      It’s shitty that they just have each other (basically Amy does have her husband for support) and being each other’s cheerleaders is vital in this! It’s so hard when you’re with that person 24/7 and don’t have an objective outlet to discuss things with. their MOM should be there for them but a professional definitely needs consulting. I’d be surprised if the producers don’t get them one soon

    • @drive1293

      They both need counseling or therapy. If you watched their previous episodes they've mentioned them growing up in a poor environment where they were severely neglected and abused. The environment plays a big factor in anyone's growth, and it's obvious that their negative environment has indirectly pushed them towards using food as a coping/placebo mechanism.

    Tammy needs to learn that pain, no matter how small or how large, is equal. It's not pleasant for either of them, but I don't think she considers that Amy is hurting because all she wants is to help her sister along too? It definitely seems like Tammy isn't as serious about trying to lose weight etc however, and whilst I get its hard, it needs to be done... but she doesn't have the same motivition like Amy wanting a baby, but surely there must be something she wants in life that she won't achieve living her life the way she is... I do hope the both of them get better, but atm it seems like Amy's the only one focused on the end goal :/

    Tammy really frustrates me. She's very melancholy and I think she needs some kind of treatment for depression, because where she thinks Amy is throwing her under a bus, I think Amy is trying to keep her accountable. Tammy comes across as very selfish, but I think it's a symptom of depression; I used to be exactly the same way. I used to think no one was listening to me and no one cared, but when I started to feel better, I started to realise that I wasn't asking for help or letting myself be listened to. I don't want to make this about myself, but I think Tammy needs to look deeper into why she has no motivation. Love this series you're doing!

      @ImYuri I sincerely apologise for offending you; it was never my intention to offend anyone, and I understand that depression is very different for everyone. To clarify, I was trying to point out that when I was actively depressed I struggled to understand things from others' perspectives because I was so caught up in my own head, and I feel that Tammy is in the same situation. That being said, I cannot say for sure how Tammy feels, and I really hope she gets the help she needs. @fReSh bOnEs no ones hating on her, we all damn well know she's struggling, EVERY comment I've seen you reply to are from people simply holding her accountable, not hating, whilst understanding its hard. Its like when I have treated my own family like shit when I was dealing with abuse trauma and people called me out for it, they understood that yes, I'm struggling but enabling my shitty behaviour aint it, that my struggles aren't an excuse. If anything you seem to hate on Amy, anytime someone sympathises for her and what she has to put up with you reply all angry like "everyone hates tamny, fuck amy she fucked them over with the sodas and she doesn't have it as hard" 🙄 the one holding Tammy back is Tammy, I can see that because I used to be JUST like her. Focus on the actual hateful comments toward her, you know the ones that mock what she looks like, mock how she ended up like that.

      Maybe she’s hypersensitive? She looks like she’s been judge and bullied a lot in her life so now any remarks made toward her even if it’s to help her she feels like it’s an attack. She’s not helping her case being so disrespectful and ungrateful as if it is owed to her but that also maybe a reflect of their upbringing and how their own mother disregarded and disrespected and neglected them their whole life.
      Just being the devil’s advocate cause everyone is going at her rn it’s obvious she’s emotionally suffering and feeling she’s getting getting looked down on by her sister so she cries and get back at her to what she assumes is the same level of aggressiveness

    "I'm still trying to figure out what the healthy foods are."
    I really wish the dietician had given them laminated sheets with pictures and descriptions of "healthy" foods in a typical grocery store, and maybe some recipes. Kentucky and Georgia are both southern states, so they'd have similar stores and they could get similar things from a Kentucky store that they would get at a Georgia store. I feel like the dietician didn't do her due diligence in educating Tammy and Amy in what is good food and what is unhealthy. It might not be her fault but she should have realized that they have no idea what is healthy when they were rattling off their list of foods with such zeal.
    I still have a gut feeling that Tammy and Amy were not only victims of abusive neglect by their mother, but possibly abuse by other people their mother let in the house (and maybe their own siblings). Their mother seems to be that kind of person too that was abused herself and perpetuated the cycle onto her own children. Don't get me wrong, their mother is an abusive piece of shit and her own abuse does NOT excuse her abusing other people - she needed to woman up and decide to break the cycle but she was too weak-willed to do so (either with help or by herself).
    Everyone in the household - Tammy, Amy, AND Michael - needs therapy and counseling.

      The person was listing off a list of items and to be honest we never saw what else they talked about. And the only vegetable they got wrong was the lettuce. And the other sister realized it was wrong.
      As a nutritionist, would you think that your clients, who are women in their thirties, and probably go to the supermarket more than once a week, to not know what a carrot is?
      Not saying that there won't be people who are ignorant to veggies, but I wouldn't put any blame on the nutritionist. As I said before we don't know what else they talked about, and the girls have already proved themselves knowledgeable. Depending on who you're working with showing pics of veggies to an adult would seem insulting. I would understand if she asked about them and didn't do it ☺️

      I personally dont think the mom is “abusive”, i just think shes kind of a bitch. After all the mom did raise 5 kids by herself and thats not exactly easy, plus the way children turn out isnt 100% a parents fault. Just my opinion tho because harsh words are v common in asian households, especially about weight, but i personally wouldn’t consider it abuse.

    • @yagadoobigidibobbibigabiga38
      @yagadoobigidibobbibigabiga38 3 года назад +3

      I would think again about the use of the words "abusive neglect", especially considering the only thing we know about the mother is through their lens and we only know that she was a mother of five (that definitely has a terrible sense of how to say the truth in a less harmful way) and worked three jobs to support her kids while not showing them love in an obvious way (they also said they think she didn't know how to show how she cared as well.) I think that's not abusive neglect, it's just neglect due to the fact that she had to do so, so much to raise them. My dad doesn't work three jobs but he's been working all my life, and when he's not working, he's sleeping, and he rarely ever showed his love for me and my sisters growing up, so I felt like I barely knew him up until I was 13. And I feel like they would've probably mentioned abuse of other people seeing as they're very blunt women, just like their mother, to the point of plain rudeness half the time. So you could be right, but I have serious doubt about it, and that's a far jump to conclusions considering they definitely didn't allude to any of that when talking about her, and neither did the like 90 second clip of the mother and her pretty rude attitude give away hints to allude to that either.

      Never mind, just started watching their fifth episode reaction to them. What an emotionally abusive woman, like you could at least spare them the pain of trying to deal with you their whole life by abandoning them once they grew independent of you, it'd probably be a lot better for them than keeping her energy around and trying to mend a relationship she's just NOT willing to fix. She's not even trying, no wonder they struggle with willpower.

  • @birdy369
    @birdy369 3 года назад +1

    My mom has always severely guilted me and reminded me of everything wrong I've done, thinking shes like, motivating me by saying it. Threatens me with phrases like "you're never going to be able to do this or that with the way you are now". Just super discouraging things, and it's very constant all day long. I've been struggling with bipolar depression unmedicated for quite a few years now, and have had few unsuccessful suicide attempts, and have suffered with chronic suicidal thoughts that arent even due to sadness or anger, but just fatigue and hopelessness. Her constant reminders of how bad everything is and has been because of me obviously do not help me at all. I've talked to her 100s of times, even breaking down in tears literally BEGGING her to stop saying negative things to me, not even asking her to say positive things, just do not say anything at all. None of it works. I finally left and went homeless on the streets in the middle of winter for a month (only for a few days and nights between couch hopping), and she begged me to come home the whole time. I reminded her of everything she said to me everyday, and told her how outrageous and ridiculous it was that I was legitimately happier when I was on the streets away from her. how I finally developed motivation for myself and hope. How I hadnt felt that way in YEARS AND YEARS. I finally came back 2 weeks ago and she hasnt been on me as bad... until today. We are going to see how it goes from here but I know her... nothing, NOTHING in this world is good enough for her. Ever.
    So i can SORT OF understand Tammy in that sense. Especially after seeing their mom in one episode. If she had to live with that growing up, I understand her sudden frustration when Amy says certain things.
    But at the same time I personally dont think Amy is that harsh with her at all... then again alot may be cut from the show and i cant judge her pain and say "oh she doesnt have it as bad as me" at ALL. pain is pain. Everyone feels it from different causes, but it doesnt lessen one persons pain from another's. Someone may LOVE tomatoes, and someone else may like them but not LOVE them, but that person cant say "oh you cant love tomatoes because they're not that lovable".
