What a lot of people miss about SJ is that they can't add more players with Retained Salary. Teams can only carry a maximum of 3 Retained Salaries at a time. At the moment SJ has, Burns, EK65 and Hertl. From 25/26 Burns are gone from the SJ books.
I really like Blake Coleman, but with his playoff experience, friendly cap hit, and the production he put up last season; Is it really worth hanging on to him for the Flames at this point? Could he be a piece the Flames use to move up in the draft? As mentioned the Senators are looking to avoid rebuilding the rebuild, could the Flames build a package to attain the 7th overall? Would a deal including Coleman, Bahl, and the 28th overall be enough to get it done? Coleman’s 200 for game, offensive upside, and all around veteran leadership would huge on ice and in the locker room. Bahl has shown he can play the stay at home shut down roll very well which would help anchor their new back end featuring Ulmark, and he has potential offensive upside as well. Maybe you swap Coleman for Sharangovich if the Sens feel he’s got more to offer them going forward. But I think Frank is right that Ottawa doesn’t want to wait for another young player to flourish. After seeing his brother lift the Cup this year I think the clock is running for the Senators to make the playoffs before Brady starts wanting out. Matthew himself has said his brother is made for the playoffs, and I’m inclined to believe that! That pick at 7 is worth more as a trade piece than a pick for them at this point.
With Calgary, I would unload what you can like they should of did two years ago. Don’t lose your 1 st ! Move Anderson to Utah for a first. You want to be good in Five years
With every team in the atlantic getting ready to arm and challenge, the leafs better get this off-season right. Ottawa, detroit and buffalo are going to be better.
even at a young age tavares was a below average skater. those are the types of players that do not age well. stamkos isnt in that camp for sure. that being said whoever does sign him will be mad in year 5 or 6. lol

If Craig Conroy can drop to Columbus’ spot, he will REALLY impress me.

Stamkos, like Tavares is long in the tooth. Both past their prime. Not worth anything other than 2 yr contract to retire with their respective teams
40+ goals 40+ assists this season youre cracked
Yeah, Stamkos is still very good.
Comparing Stamkos to Toews is basically retarded.
