    Rhaenyra's son's actually do have Velaryon blood through Rhaenyra because Aegon the Conqueror's was half Velaryon due to his mother. Then Aenys Targaryen married a Velaryon and had kids with her which means King Jahaerys I was also half Velaryon. Velaryon's and Targaryen's have been marrying and having kids together before they came to Westeros centuries ago when they lived in Valyria. Laenor and Rhaenyra's son's are 3rd cousins so they are related to Laenor even though he's not their father.

    Basically the Queen was hugging Haelena cause she was sad for her daughter (honestly don't know what she was expecting marrying her only daughter to Aegon II) , she was also sad cause let's be honest that was probably not the first time Aegon II had one of their maids flee his chambers to the Queen.
    Haelena probably couldn't find the maid cause she was basically fired when Alicent gave her that money.

    *Rhaenyra naming Jace heir to the iron throne would be her committing treason cause she would be illegally passing the throne to the Strongs.* So if the crown decides Luke is a Strong by denying him Driftmark, then Jace is also a Strong by association. Which would make Rhaenyra's treason a statement of fact in the eyes of the crown.
    Also the pesky little question of primogeniture. Since King Jaehaerys' Great Council decided the firstborn male son would be heir and chose Viserys over Rhaenys. The Greens take it as a legal precedent whereas the Blacks take it as a one time deal. Traditionally the firstborn male son always takes precdence. Tradition is with the Greens.

      How is she passing it to stongs, she is the heir, jace will get the throne from her mother not her father, so he still has a claim, unlike Cersei's son Joffrey, who didn't had any claim as she he was not baratheon and he would inherit from his father not mother, thats why Cersei ordered yo kill all the baratheon bastards as they'll have more claim than Joffrey

    • @theunsteady3675
      @theunsteady3675 Год назад +1

      Exactly. If we were actually following the laws. Rhaenyra should've been executed for treason the moment Jace was named heir. Even funnier is the fact that Laenor is still alive in the show (while he's dead in F&B), which means Rhaenyra's marriage to Daemon is illegal, making even her kids with Daemon illegitimate.

    • @jackcrofts-mullin461
      @jackcrofts-mullin461 Год назад

      @@shreyakar9220 He may have Targaryen blood, but he was still born illegitimately. Since he's a bastard, legally, he cannot inherit anything. The only reason he is considered heir is because Viserys has proclaimed him a true born son. If that ever changed and Jace and Luke were denounced, the Iron Throne wouldn't pass to Jace, it would pass to her children by Daemon, since they were born legitimately. But, that's only if Rhaenrya wasn't executed or banished from Westeros for adultery. Then it would've definitely passed to Aegon and the Greens

    It's ironic that the seemingly fake emotions at the dinner was actually the most authentic we've ever seen them. It was the only time they were NOT putting on their masks. It shows that without the line of succession and all the other royal madness mirroring what existed in medieval europe, these people could've been really good friends. But the system they lived in destined them to murder each other. It's like being from rival blocks in southside chicago you don't have much of a choice. The dinner sequence makes for so much regret and despair cause it was a tiny window to what could've been. It’s the gossamer’s thread slipping away from their hands. They all knew it was the last moments of solitude, but at the same time they probably did briefly delude themselves into thinking "maybe, just maybe things will work out". They’re all unwitting participants in a tragic theater that’s about to unfold.

      Yes but declaring Luc illegitimate to Driftmark would blowback on Luc's claim to the Iron Throne and by extension Rhaenyra reputation would be trashed for having illegitimate children. This could give the houses pause to not accept her as a suitable heir. Once the King is dead all bets are off just as Rhaenys warned. Women are held to a different standard than men.

    Like Condal said in the BTS they did a great job of showing how much the Red Keep and by extension King's Landing has changed under Hightower tutelage. When we startrd, it was such a lively place bustling with life and color filled with Targaryen erotica, dragon erotica. Now it has the feeling of a stern, austere monastery reflecting the temperament of the queen. It's heartbreaking watching the princess and the queen trying to futilely make amends with an insurmountable gulf between them. They did have a real love and friendship with each other at one time. They always tried to move themselves away from the precipice. They were driven there by the people around them. But it's too late. The poison has spread too far. The young kids who do not appreciate the history that's gone into this and what's at stake, kicks it off. Prince Aemond has no such appreciation. "To the health of my nephews, each of them handsome, wise and *Strong* !"

    Essentially by parading around Jace and Luke as legitimate, when they are not, she is stealing to birth rights of other people. Which is very bad when her own claim to the thrown rest in the traditions and laws she is openly disregarding. And even if they ignored all that, it is inevitable that at least one of Jaces legitimate cousins or brothers will start a war for what is rightfully theirs.
    All around Rhaenyra has put herself in a very bad spot. Which Viserys is enabling.

    21:34 they may have kept in drugged, but we see he needed it. Milk of the Poppy is like a really strong painkiller in Westeros. The downside is that it leaves people in a state of delirium. We see in the throne room scene that without the milk, he is in a constant state of pain and agony. It wasn't to keep the King out of the picutre (at least from Alicent's perspective, it most likely was from Otto's), but to keep him free from the pain of his condition

    This is the episode that truly shows how different Rhanerya and Alicient are as mothers and people in general.
    We start the episode with Jace wanting to learn to be the best king for his people and Rhaenyra being caring.
    Then we cut to Aegon II literally being the worst! And Alicent has a routine down of money and plan-tea. WTF!
    Then we see how they’ve changed in the last 6yrs. Alicient feeling guilty about the incident at drift mark, turned to religion and becomes more pious. Rhaenrya’s growth is more subtle but she’s always trying to set aside their differences for the good of the realm and it will be her downfall.
    I honestly want her to get even with the Hightowers sometimes but then I remember, like her dad, they think the white walkers are coming in the next decade or something so she’s trying to keep the peace.

    The dinner was a masterclass of building trepidation through melancholy. Viserys watching the kids in a last dance before the Dance. Fleeting moments of bliss. Everyone hoping for the best, expecting the worst. For something so uneventfully peaceful, the passing was one of the most foreboding & viscerally filmed deaths I've seen. Book Viserys also doses off to the great beyond in his bed, after telling stories to grandkids. The king who was most unlike Aegon the Conqueror in life ends up being most like the Conqueror in death.
    Next up is the green council!! The copium episode!! Cue the Hoes Mad beat😤!! Our religion, tradition & patriarchy upholder Queen-Mother & our redpiled Homelander King will make Westeros great again🙃/s

It's that everyone in Team Green is very dysfunctional in a highly entertaining bluth-roy sort of way, whereas Rhaenyra married her cop uncle who got kicked off the force, and now she's a boy mom. I'm not saying I'm taking sides but I'm saying that one of these things is more enjoyable to watch and post about than the other.

    Viserys: I love you all dearly!! Also Viserys: My Only child!! He kept saying let’s get along & proceeded to keep doing everything to make sure that’s impossible. Viserys is the real villain of this show. Viserys knew what Jaehaerys' council would've wanted him to do. He knew having a male son after stubbornly naming his daughter heir would create an impossible situation. He knew his favoritism towards his daughter would naturally fester resentment on the other side of his family. Viserys knew what was gonna happen and kept doing it. He won his own crown that way. People forget he and Daemon were preparing for a civil war because the other claimant Rhaenys was a female. Viserys himself was "elected" king over a female, how hypocritical is it for him to trample on that legacy. Seems like the viewership can't compartmentalize between "loving father" (to one child) from "absolutely terrible king who made one bad decision after another". Viserys was the definition of Nero playing with his Lego set while Rome was burning from the fire he started. Meanwhile, sweet tongue Rhae Rhae practically dragged a lepered corpse out just to have the rightful heir to Driftmark executed. Big "Dad. Listen to me. You NEED to sign off these documents in my name RIGHT NOW" hospice bedside energy.

      Keeping peace in the realm is a huge deal. He did that for his reign. You're right, though. Viserys was a good man, but not meant to be King. In a different world without all the politics & scheming, he could've been a good leader.
      Obviously he'd love his daughter differently & think of her as his only. It's not like he could even be a real father to the others considering his condition & they have a deeper/longer connection. He loved her mother. You sound like folks who just have a weird Rhaenera issue lol
      Vaemond wasn't the rightful air. It goes to kids before brothers/uncles, so the bloodline wouldn't end. He was being selfish.

    • @dewantoroo
      @dewantoroo Год назад

      Well she still has a claim because her father chose her to be the heir and didn't change it at any point at all. The illegitimacy of her children isn't going to change the fact that the king chose her to be the heir. Even if Viserys knew that her kids are in fact illegitimate... I doubt he will set her aside and change his heir to aegon. His people might not agree, but HE IS THE KING lol. And if Rhaenyra ascend the iron throne, she can easily denied those accusations against her children and execute those who doubt their illegitimacy. And that's another reason why people side with the green and the civil war.

He can't just do whatever he wants. Jaehaerys' chose the male heir before the female. If Jaeahaerys's (who is considered the greatest Targaryen king by many) words meant nothing soon as he died, then why should Viserys's word mean anything after his death?
