The easiest way to see this be successful is for the developers to actually listen to community feedback rather than just put up bandaid patches that ultimately just take away from the experience. I have reserved hopes for this, but they are hopes nonetheless
It started development in 2017 but switched developers a few years ago due to the original devs dropping the ball. It should’ve have come out around the time Grounded did.
@@MediocreMilton Wow hey Milton, who would have thought you would be the one to comment me back! I loved your Grounded content. Now that I'm done being a fan, that's unfortunate development was delayed. It may be better for them because the Grounded comparisons may have hurt them if they came out at the same time. Hopefully this game is better and will fill the void Grounded left after everyone finished the game.
Yes, but with a similar concept, the team chose to change the original concept to "Smallfolk" as opposed to humans being shrunk as Grounded did to a modicum of success. The original team is still there, providing input with the complete detour.
I think it is a bit tough to call it a rip off when it started development around the same time. It is like calling Call of Duty a rip off of Battlefield 1942 (or vice versa). The concept of a player with combat, crafting and survival elements, just on a smaller scale. It will be different than what is out there. Yes, there will be many comparisons to Grounded, but just give it time.
True, but early concepts from Smalland had pretty much the same idea of humans being shrunk. Makes me believe that to stand out from Grounded, they changed the script to try & eliminate 1-1 comparisons. I think it'll be great, unfortunately, there's no news of a console port which hurts it.
True, but Grounded isn't the first. It was the first with a bigger backing, making it more popular while still lacking a lot of gameplay experiences wanted by players in that environment. Grounded ultimately failed in a lot of aspects, leaving room for others to improve upon.
The Spy Who Shrunk Me, Hypercharged:Unboxed, Inch by Inch, Sly 3, Mario Brothers lol. The "shrunken" gimmick is nothing new, Grounded just copied the Honey I Shrunk The Kids idea & turned it into a game backed by MS so of course it gets more promotion.
I want to like it but the design/graphics are terrible, even the fonts used make it look like a rpg from 2002. I feel absolutely no attraction to the "fairy"/elf" design either, hard pass. thanks for the video
We can get into the "but, it's early access" argument here with things, but that'd be pointless. It won't be for everyone, though, due to the style. Appreciate the comment, though, Axel! 👊
@@OriginalRyan yeah with early access most of the time the graphics you get are the ones you'll get in final version, like they're not gonna "retexture" the whole game sadly. Thanks for the video, it's cool that you cover this tho, hope it'll get better.
Typically, graphics are improved upon full release, actually, which is weird. The gameplay is typically the main focus. We'll see! I like how it seems so far
I am looking forward to this. It has a lot of possibilities.
Definitely agree. One of the comments that I think is true is listening to the players during early access.
Grounded 2: Magical Boogaloo
🤣
Comparison will always be there, but hopefully, they've taken a look at feedback from that game & improved.
👍👻

Agreed!
Looks really cool but is this not considered a rip off of Grounded? I mean a lot of the features I'm seeing are almost a 1 to 1 copy.

It is a similar concept from different minds. The differences are plentiful. What you think Grounded did "well" or "bad" will be completely different.

Looks good. Doesn't look as good as Grounded but the mounts are definitely interesting.
It will always be compared to Grounded, but hopefully, it stands out as well as it appears to. Right, now, I've got faith, but we'll see.
@@OriginalRyan True, and comparison doesn't seem fair because even though they have similarities, they are definitely different.

i have returned after being missing for many months, excited to start playing early access. have i finished grounded? no. do i care? no
Hey dark! WB!
Doesn’t really do it for me like Grounded did.
Looks like any other generic RPG/survival game… just using the shrunken down aspect from Grounded.

Which games did the shrunken down outdoors before Grounded?

Grounded clone
It's completely different.
