I just need to say that toxoplasma gondii is not that big of a deal as what he made it out to be. Not many people eat raw meat and you're more likely to be contaminated by your cat.
It's mandatory for pregnant women to test for its presence as it can be dangerous for the foetus, which is why a pregnant woman should not clean the litterbox of a cat. Other than that if you're contaminated, you're just likely to have the same symptoms as flu and then you gain immunity. The changes in behaviors in humans are so little so you wouldn't notice them.

For the radio, it's mostly to preserve French music culture some other European country would probably like to hear songs from there own country from time to time but of course we still hear a lot of foreign music everyday you don't need to worry about that , so in reality it's nothing patriotic we just cling to and don't want our culture disappearing under american and british cultures.
It's like if as an american you would only hear French or Spanish music but rarely music from your own country ^^'.

Louisiane , the French's north American colony, wasn't the size of actual Louisiana : it was around a third of actual USA territory from north (Québec, Canada) to south .
"Louisiane" was a reference to our king Louis XIV, fun fact his reign was 1 year longer than Elizabeth II (the former british Queen) which is the longest reign known in the world

    Hello Dears ! It’s a great reaction.
You are right in your assumptions about the fact that the old French names prononciation in Louisiana (and mainly in New Orléans) are usually wrong… ;)
I remember the first time I heard “Prairie du chien” said by a local in a documentary about Louisiana . I was like : “whaaaatt ? What have we done wrong ?” ^ ^
I can confirm you the ending part of names like Boudreaux, Devereaux, etc… are pronounced like the lettre “o” whatever is the spelling. Mouchet (if I am not mistaken by your name spelling) is pronounced like moo-sh-ay but with a very short pronunciation of the “ay” without stressing the Y. If it was Mouchette, the TTE would be pronounced. Also the “right way” to say Métairie is may-tay-ree, or Ponchartrain is said (close to) poun-sharrr-train, without pronouncing the final N.
When it’s comes to tourists in France, I guess it’s depend on the place you decide to visit and stay. People outside of Paris area tend to say Parisian are rude or cold but it’s not true at all. Their lives are pretty much like in every big city in the world and their mood isn’t as good or bad as a New-Yorker and usually really change upon the weather, their struggles in their daily routine as everyone… but Parisian usually hold subway doors for others, help mothers with strollers to ascend stairs, etc…
if you want to look less touristy (to avoid being a target for burglar or pick-pockets) don’t wear caps or hoodies with American flags printed on it. French people tend to be less patriotic in their daily life. Besides the official buildings like town halls, colors are trooped only for national holidays like bastille day or special anniversary about WWI and WWII… the key is in 4 words :
Bonjour (hello), s’il vous plaît (please), merci, (thank you) and Au revoir (bye).
French people are overly polite and hate to be taken in a non initiated conversation without being “introduced” properly.
Outside of Paris, people are usually seen as in a better mood with foreigners but it’s not always true. Like everywhere in the world, the mood is related to the size of their town, the local climate and shape of their environment. Southerners tends to be more joyful and easy going (like Italian, Spanish or South Anericans). In colder areas, people are harder to crack.
I highly recommend you the American RUclipsrs channels : Oui in France,
Unintentionally Frenchified or others expats in France videos who are living here for years. They usually provide some good informations about their relationship with French locals and what they have learned to do or not to avoid absolute no-no as a newcomer in the country.

french translated by google : I'm French and I like to see the faces of Americans when we talk about eating snails. You should know that they are raised in protected places where they are given herbs that make them drool to eliminate impurities. Then they are cooked and prepared with spicy sauces. It is a lean and ecological meat.
Concerning the horse, several years ago, there was an awareness campaign led by the actress Brigitte Bardot and the French are eating less and less horse meat
Concerning toxoplasmosis, I don't know where he got his information, but there are no more cases of infected people than in other countries and the behavior of the French is not the result of their food but of their education and the various wars that marked their country.
Regarding english words, the Academy has created french words for new technologies but english words are common and accepted.
The French don't hate everyone (just half!!), there are just codes of respect and politeness to apply to have a good stay.

Demouchets can come from de french Auvergne region last name "de Mouchet" (there is a lot of Mouchet in Auvergne). An emouchet is a small falcon and this shortened word was used there as a nickname for short people and became a last name for some families (like a lot of our family name)
It's just one possibility and absolutely not a certainty.

    Hey I am french 🙋‍♀️
And yes we grow to learn that New Orleans was french at some point. It’s why its called this name, Orléans is a french city and in the colonial times they liked to call colonies « New- random city that already exists in the invider’s country».
And yes your last name… sounds super french 😅 it could be a name of a random french person I cross everyday! Maybe it’s even why I started to follow you here on RUclips 😉 it definetely sounds familiar.
And for the radio stuff it also mean that 60% of what we ear is International music. Can you say the same about USA ´s radio ? It’s just that the older french persons are so scared of one day don’t understand what’s being said on TV and radio that they tried to ban some anglosaxon words (completely unsuccesful). Younger generation mostly speak english so it’s getting better.
And I don’t really like patriotists in France because they are usually racist. Except for sports and National Holidays being patriotic in France usually mean you hate everything that is foreign. And that is becoming a big problem as more and more people are racist in France and don’t even tried to hide it like before, with the excuse of preserving tradition they can trash on everyone who do diferently.
