theres no way NPC automatically craft thier own bait?

I haven't found a method as of yet. I've seen forum posts requesting the feature, and haven't seen anyone respond with a way to do it, so as far as I know, the answer is no. That being said, I've noticed that they continue to catch fish without bait, so it's either unnecessary, or it's specific to catching specific fish, etc. I haven't done testing to see if having bait increases the catch volume. I'll try an experiment eventually with side-by-side fishing huts, giving one of them some bait and none for the other and see if there's a difference, but right now they seem to be doing ok without bait.
