@susanblanche9684 there is no "perfect" location. But look west of Mississippi, north of red river, east of Sierra and Cascade range. Stay out or at least 500 ft above of historic river valleys. Check geologic maps for fault zones... stay off craton edges. Check the last 60 years of disasters to measure area.
That leaves Colorado, Utah, Wyoming

Josh, thank you for the information, clearly you are exceptionally knowledgeable when it comes to tropical cyclones - weather in general. I live in Santee, South Carolina, but lived in Charleston for 60+ years.... and want you to know I enjoy your detailed forecasts, BUT more importantly, THANKS for sharing your faith. There are MANY hurting people in dire situations. We are in a world (as you are aware) that needs Jesus more than ever. PLEASE keep sharing your gift/knowledge and your faith. I do have a prayer request, if you would reach back to me at your leisure. I lived through Hurricane Hugo (14 days without electricity) - knew many folks that didn't get power until Thanksgiving - over 60 days, Hurricane David, Hurricane Floyd, Hurricane Michael and many others. Please keep advising people, informing and caring as you do. Be ENCOURAGED as you are making a difference. You don't know whose life you could be saving - not just physically! GOD Bless you Josh! Tim

I f😢bad for Florida they don't need any more storms they don't need them I have family and friends that live in that state and I pray for them and every body else I am not sure but I heard that 34 people died with the last storm and I also heard that there are people that are unaccounted for I hope the people that are unaccounted will be found safe and sound I also will pay for the other states that were effected by the storm and I will keep on praying for everyone
Thank you Josh for your testimony ... God is still in control and He is so good AMEN 🙏
Praying for everyone in this monster storm.
It doesn't need to be declared a hurricane, tropical storms being a lot of rain.
So do potential ones.
Please man I can’t deal with another hurricane 🙏😭

Laura got us good even above Alexandria. No power for 3 weeks! How bad was the damage below you in Kaplan? I lived there for about 18 months years ago.
The next storm tells me in Tennessee that we can expect lows. I am starting to winterize our old house.
Thanks for your great help.

Hello neighbor. Blessings to you and your family.
@@julimartin7698 Thank you, I wish you the best for you and your family as well. Keep them close. Times are tough we have to rely on each other.
Most of us here in the South and even Central Florida are pretty used to it and our infrastructure is built to handle it.
I'm more worried about all the damage done to the people a bit more up north where they don't expect these kinds of things. Their stuff isn't made to handle this kind of event, and for them this massive storm probably came out of the blue.

People really need to think about moving farther inland away from the water, because that beauty can turn ugly in a hurry.
This is indeed terrible. But, we must be watchful, be prepared, listen to wonderful people like you. God bless.
I'm praying God of Bible will put angels around Florida and entire USA for no more hurricanes and floods in 2024.
I work for a city and have been doing cleanup. No power at my house since Thursday evening. Utility company is aiming to restore us Sunday at midnight. And we are the lucky ones. No house damage.
Do NOT build within 20 Kilometres of an Ocean or Major river.
Build with Hemp Crete.
Build on stilts that can SHIFT with the soil when it needs to. (Or build with Cob in areas that do not flood)
Have fireplaces.
Have lots of natural light.
Instead of turning on a heater first put on more clothes.
Instead of turning aircon on straight away dampen your shirt and let a breeze cool you.

@MrJeffreyjeff101 the meteorologist get a storm right but can't tell me when I'll get rain without a probability chart. We can't make it rain when it's dry, can't make it stop when it's too wet, can't cool it when it's too hot and can't heat it when it's too cold. @susanblanche9684 every state has something I live in Hudson Valley NY and we just get winter weather in January and February it's temporary, no hurricanes here no tornados no volcanos no earthquakes! Do research about different states they all have something but at least with winter when the snow ends we clean up and it's done we don't loose everything we worked for in a snowstorm like you did in a hurricane
a hurricane is one thing, you can prepare or leave in most cases, there are far worse things we live with now, and you won't be warned when that comes

They warned us about 2024 last year. While we didn’t have ton of hurricanes hitting US, look at the damage that one inflicted. Dang.
@frankyhonnolus5528 It's been part of the general warning about the effects of hurricanes as the planet warms: warmer seas, larger and more frequent hurricanes, more rain and flooding, etc.

Thx for the update. Heléne was obviously a devastating storm but, at the same time, John has left southwestern Mexico with severe flooding, especially in and around Acapulco. The national weather service reports some areas affected by John received 87+ cm /34") of rain. We know that climate change has caused the atmosphere to hold more water and when that excess moisture gets wrung out of the atmosphere over your region you are looking at a world of hurt. This problem will get worse over time as warming continues and it may be the biggest challenge we face from climate change due to its destruction of our infrastructure.
History is repeating itself 2004
Oh yes I remember the flood of 04 I was living in Asheville then but this is way worse.
Maybe we should look into better building codes. Especially in areas more proned to hurricanes.
