Is Mike Macdonald molding the SEAHAWKS defense in the RAVENS image? (The parallels are STRIKING!)

I would posit that Roy Robertson has allowed Leonard Williams to flourish. Also, Murphy is taking double teams. In all, I would say it's a team effort. The 2 mid season additions have been key.

RRH has been great! Solid addition.

Hows that with RRH? He plays 34% of snaps.
I have big hopes for murphy but a top 16 pick needs to do more than "take on double teams." Hopefully by end of season he'll show more than that. Right now he plays 50%. Very soon with hankins, reed out if contract he'll need to take a jump up.

It looks to me that the players who were added recently at linebacker and defensive line have been key additions to allow the defense to develop and recently excel!

Dan, awesome analysis as usual. Especially the comparison to the 2022 Ravens when that defense only gave up 14 points a game on average after their 8th game. So, I need to share something with you that will even further solidify that comparison to what the Hawks D has given up over the last 3 games. You mentioned we had been giving up 16 points per game over those last 3 games. Well, I very humbly need to share that technically, the Hawks' D has only given up 14.33 points per game on average over the last 3 games. Unless I am missing something, it appears you added the 6 points given up to the Rams when their defender ran back a 100+ yard interception for a touchdown. The Hawks' defense did not allow those 6 points. So, thus far, the comparison between the 2022 Ravens D and ours this season is even more favorable than you originally believed. The Ravens' D improved a game average of 8 points given up, whereas the Hawks have an improvement of 10 points per game. 😊 Just sayin.

Really liked this episode..........probably because you and I are seeing some of the same things. I've made the comparison of R. Smith to E. Jones, and K. Hamilton to Spoon elsewhere and gotten push back. Not sure what those guys are missing.
Some might think the hard choices and changes on defense are cut throat, but I think they are very good tuning for need. You may have seen what I saw too many times with Baker and Dodson. The number of times they'd hit the wrong hole to plug the run, and worse a few times they'd both hit the same wrong hole together(!), jeez. Jones has been the catalyst for success and confidence across the front. I do wonder why we haven't seen similar things on offense. Williams sorta made it happen for the center position, but not a staff decision if the stories are correct.

I'm going to the Cardinals game. I'm flying in from Copenhagen, Denmark late Saturday evening.
There's a faction there arranging bus from a bar to the stadium including tailgating, that I bought into cause I'm traveling alone. Thought it would be a great way to meet people. 😊
The Saturday after I'm flying to Seattle for the Packers and Vikings game before flying to Chicago on the 25th for the TNF game on the way home to Denmark.

Why can't it just be the Seahawks new defense. They are not anybody's 2.0
Let them grow into their own.
I get the connection, but that's all it is; it's a connection. It's been a few good games. They don't need the comparisons, nor have they earned them yet.

Mike is really good at not throwing guys under the bus, even when it's obvious and the media is baiting him.
Honestly, I see some Pete in him, can't put my finger on it but it's there.

He kind of threw Baker and Dodson under the bus. And he just said he isn't happy with Haynes at RG. Connor Williams retired cause he was being pushed to guard. Think that's why he was out in Miami too though.

There is no substitute for communication. When a team has half of the players on defense, combine with playing 3 games in 11 days and the entire scene is new to everyone. The loosing 3 straight is likely.
What is impressive, is how they put in the effort to resolve their problems, get healthy, and be back in first place in a very short time

In agreement with the 4-2 projection. GB and the Vikings will be difficult, but we should be able to win the other 4. Should have beaten the Rams last time. I'm feeling pretty good about the possibilities of winning the NFC West, with the way the defense has been playing. Players get better when you believe in them and they see the success of following the plan, when they believe and buy in. A couple of the guys talked about that after the game, the team buying in. They're finally in sync with each other.

Probably go 3-3 to finish 9-8
And then it's 50/50 whether thats good enough to win the division
They really fd up losing to the giants

Do you know if there is a tailgate party?
(I don't have tickets to the game so I'm just going to bounce around)
