      Great to hear! Glad you're benefitting from the list and the explanations. When a marker is difficult to blend, you could be dealing with a staining marker but also consider your paper. For most people, improving your paper will immediately improve the quality of your blending.

I do not know if you are a one woman team or you have other people helping out, but WAY TO Go! I hope that I can get as good as you at creating content. Have no idea why I found your statement on no new markers coming disappointing. This information is very good and I appreciate you doing these. I want to scream and scream about telling people don’t waste money on “cheap” markers and I’m not an artist. Can’t imagine how frustrating this issue must be for you

    • @AmyShulke
      @AmyShulke Месяц назад

      You're correct, the cheap marker thing is frustrating. I think the watercolor instructors have it worse though. Once upon a time, they only had to warn people not to buy the little box of 8 watercolors from the Walmart back-to-school section. Now they've got a list a mile long of all the crafty watercolor markers, pencils, and travel boxes of terrible paint. I don't know how they get out of bed in the morning, hahahha.

    I wish I'd found you much earlier, could have saved a lot of money. I bought a lot of blending groups from watching a lady who is a wonderful colorist. But yeah I needed the "Blending in Baby Steps" manual lol.

    • @AmyShulke
      @AmyShulke Месяц назад +1

      Baby steps is a good way of phrasing it. It's very common for people to get excited and they want all the stuff right and all the info right away. And we tell ourselves, we've used Crayola before, so we certainly won't be a complete beginner. But there really is a learning curve and buying all the bells and whistles doesn't change the curve. I totally get ya. Thanks for sharing!

    I do need all the blue Copics 😂. I used to work dangerously close to a Blick store once a month or so 🙄I’d drop in and buy 5-10 Copics, unfortunately I’ve moved to another state with no Blicks 😢. And yes what’s with the purple markers?

    • @AmyShulke
      @AmyShulke 9 дней назад

      I'm Blickless. At this point, if I was able to wander into one, I think I'd be like the Tasmanian Devil, buying 14 of everything.
      Yellows and purples. I love ya, Copic but grrrrrrr. I've been waiting for decades for an expanded Y and V palette.

  • @tinawilstrup955
    @tinawilstrup955 Месяц назад

    I couldn't agree more on the purple markers, ugh! I started out with the ceres, but honestly they don't blend properly. V09 is beautiful, and I can do with V06, but V04 is practically neon 😵‍💫
    I did wait with the BVs but honestly I use those a whole lot more than my Vs.
    I not sure what was wrong with the B20ies, I love those. I chose them over 30ies (back in the day), although I do have B39+37.
    But the truest thing in here is that it ends with B21 - or B32. And everyone is using the BOO 🤣🤣 but I don't like it 😩 I will have to get the 41. Do you know if that lightens B21?

    • @AmyShulke
      @AmyShulke Месяц назад +1

      Totally agree on V04. I cringe at the color whenever I use it.
      The B20s are more staining which is why sit third place behind the B30s and B90s, at least for beginners. I also underpaint with Bs a lot and I think the B30s sit underneath browns, reds, and violets better than the 20s.
      And yes, you can use B41 as the next step lighter than B21.
