I bought my 2019 Avalon Hybrid XSE 2 months ago. I thought a 4 cylinder automobile would not have the pickup I was used to, but I was WRONG!!! I absolutely love my automobile. It has all I want in a car and even more. The comfort is great, as is the mileage, and using regular gas is a plus As far as some thinking the grill is ugly, I certainly do not. It beats the other grills which look like kitchen blender utensils. I also opted for the 14 speaker radio and it will really improve any music playing. I haven't used the sport option with the flappers, but am going back to the dealership for instruction. What negative comments do I have? Not a d**n one!!! Love the color, the interior and everything about it, including the message board (you have your foot on the accelerator and the brake pedal) My only concern? Afraid I will get too close to something and scratch the grill, so I tend to not get close enough in parking spots. Oh well, stuff happens!

That Lexus symbol never seems to be brought up. People care what other people think. They want their friends to be like "whoa, he's got a Lexus." That adds 10k right there. That's why People buy a Lexus over a Toyota.

I really don’t. In fact, I’m quite conservative and don’t want to draw unnecessary attention to myself, but the additional comfort, quality, luxurious feel, and look of the Lexus is well worth the additional cost. I Since I take care of my cars and keep them until they die, I want to be comfortable and really enjoy them. (My husband has had his ‘98 Lexus ES 330 for more than 20 years and 200,000 miles. And I drive an ‘07 Lexus GX 470 with 175,000 miles on it) The Toyota might last as long, but the materials won’t hold up as well over that period of time.

It seems like Toyota’s design now has some design queues from the now “defunct” Scion ... is more like Toyota actually embedded Scion and now their designs are more fun and interesting. One thing to improve in these videos: the background music is too loud; I found myself changing the volume back and forth between the spoken sequences and the ones with music.

I had a 2000 Avalon that I bought with 80,000 miles on it. I only will buy used vehicles that have basically depreciated as much as possible because I drive like 45k to 50k a year for work and if I were to buy new or even only a few years old I would lose so much money in 2 years if I tried to sell it would be crazy! I ended up selling it with just a lil under 300k on it and yes the previous owner pampered the hell out of this car and it's headlights we're crystal clear because was garage kept as well. .in the first two years I had it I had driven it further then it's original owner drove it in like 14 or 15 years! I can't remember what year I actually bought it? Lol. Even though it was really dated and it's interior looked like something from an old spaceship. It was actually the fully loaded version as well the XLE I believe it was or maybe xls? Every available feature at that time it had! Even though dated I loved driving it and thought was one of the most comfortable cars I ever drove! I took really good care of it especially since it was so clean but when you drive as much as I do it's really hard to keep it that way. I work for a basement waterproofing company and forgot I had a screwdriver in my back pocket and tore the driver seat when I sat on the seat just to get something in the car and stood up quickly. After that happened I really kind of just beat it! I had actually gone like 20k plus before changing the oil! When I finally did the oil actually looked great too? Lol. When it had like 240k on it started to overheat and I would have to keep putting water in and actually bdrove around with gallon jugs of water to add when needed cuz so low but unfortunately I did this s lil too long and didn't realize that a $2 hose came off while on highway and it overheated and I blew head gasket. I actually parked it for a year and then put a used engine from an es in it with like 120k. Then the AC went as well as struts we're real bad cuz I abused it. It was too expensive to put a new schedule in it and after I figured in struts as well it just wasn't worth that much! I then got another 05 Avalon with 97k on it that just had a few scratches on bumper and everything else was great. Was a base though with just leather seats but I thought it was the most comfortable seats cuz I'm 6 3" and need room! Planned on driving this one till wheels fell off and took really good care of it in and out. I got for only $4000 and he wanted $6000 so I got great deal too. Then an old lady who was wearing covid mask while driving which didn't fit her face and it came up over her eyes. She decided to pull in credit union as I was going past and hit me basically head on. I tried to find another used one similar but a few years newer maybe since I got $6997 from insurance. I couldn't find anything so figured I maybe try to find an es 350 as well since same motor and chassis. I ended up getting an 09 with 130k but imaculate otherwise and mostly highway miles back and forth from Pittsburgh to Palm springs. I got for $7499 and he bought new second key, kept Sat radio on for 6 months, had oil changed and even bought me two matching Lexus key chains and pen when went to desler to pick up new key. I now will drive nothing else! It is so much nicer in and out! Real wood grain and heated and cooled seats in an 09 no less! Even though same platform send engine which is why considered I fell in love with her! LoL

I have to tell you. While my new Gs F sport was in for service. I got a new Es. Luxury. Starting off it’s headroom is considerably lower. Not comfortable going from the Gs to this. Unless your used to FWD drives. It’s horrible. My gosh it’s so front end heavy. I felt like it needed sand bags in the trunk. Only improvement is the infotainment center. And it’s not great. I’m worried if and when the Gs gets terminated. Because this hunk of junk is NOT for me

So the gas engine has an 8 speed automatic transmission and the hybrid model uses a CVT transmission instead. In general aspects, do both cars have the same amount of space? Interior for front and rear passengers and cargo space in the trunk? And do they both have the exact same transmission?

You can't compare and Avalon XLE to a ES 350 for interior quality of materials. Besides the price difference is over 12K. Compare the Avalon Limited. Close in options and material and still 6 to 7K less.
I agree that the Lexus out and inner styling is a bit better because of the stupid IPad sticking out of that dash. But that could be a was also since the Lexus infotainment system is still hard to use without looking at it while you drive.
