I used the DBX 286s for years and i think it's one of the best entry level preamps you can get. Very low noise und with a bit of fine tuning it really does the job very well!
Me personally I like that base sound combined with some extra high but that's because you do voiceovers on video and I do voiceovers on radio imaging. I love how this machine helps multiple styles out plus the fact it is a affordable piece of equipment.
I had the DBX 286s for about 3 months and then sold it and bought an ART Voice Channel a few months ago. I definitely prefer the VC especially when I'm using my NT1, the Expander helps a lot with background noise. It also sounds better with my SM7B imo.
Could this be approached again, cause I get intermittent distortion happening with my setup for the shure sm7b & DBX 286. Also double checked with the Studio OBS setup with the distortion video as well but I still get them.
Your voice sounds relatively high and pressed. I would boost the lows, and try to find your real voice, which might be lower. A good classical singing teacher can help you with that. I followed this procedure for myself
Now do the.... lol Thanks for clipping this segment. Rant: Why was this device designed without a darn On/Off switch?! I bought a plug with a wireless remote control to stop needlessly killing pixies.

Hello!
Do you have the schematic for this equipment that you could provide me (dbx286s)?
Thank you very much

What interface do you use with the DBX?

I was wondering all the time what that noise was

Can you do the LS-208 with the DBX286s?
I think you might have 2 dead pixels on the DBX camera, thanks for the helpful information about the DBX
Yap, I think you're right
