These are really happy horses. Thank you very much, hsus and all the good people who adopted a horse. Let's hesitate a moment and think of all the beautiful but unlucky horses which are slaughtered all over the world every second - often under very cruel conditions - for only a mouthful of flesh.
I feel so happy that there are people like them who will rescue these animals,but upset that someone so selfish could even think about neglecting an animal.But these people doing this job of rescuing them are such good people,Its one job I really couldnt do without crying and ugh :(We need more people like this!

My old horse was a rescue. You could still see his bones in the sunlight,but every single time I walked back to the pasture he would whinney rain or shine.

I am honestly scared of horses. I don't like touching them and I would never ride a horse. BUT seeing these guys being saved and seeing people adopting them makes me SO happy. Great!
your more likely t be bit by a hamster than hurt by a horse. they are the most gentle animals, not always to eachother, but to humans. i hope you get over your fear one day!

Maybe these owners who treat their animals in this horrible manner should be treated the exact same way, then maybe people would stop abusing animals. If you are not going to take proper care of an animal then don't get one. I don't understand why people can't get that through their heads and if you find you cannot care for an animal properly any longer, then find someone who will.
the lord should not let any more animals onto this planet, see where humans would be. but then they d treat each other the same way, if they re not already doing it
Aside from transporting the horses, what sort of funding does HSUS provide to local rescuing organizations that are actually taking care of these horses? And can you comment on losing your charity rating on Charity Navigator in favor of a donor advisory for fraudulent advertising?
