I 50 % agree but 50 % disagree with his comments about universities. In paksitan many good students got direct jobs in germany and many other countries, many such youtube vedios are available. Many pakistani students get selected in international universities for higher education. If our current system is flop enough the how such students are producing. Yes I agree many flaws exists in universities but this is not because of teachers its because of hec policies which are imposed on universities. As far curriculm is concerned, it is also decided by hec then how can you blame teachers. Many senior pakistani teachers has good job offering from international universities because of their research but they refused to join. If their research is under quality then how they are getting such offers. I personally know many pu and fast faculty who refused to join. We need to improve our hec politics if want to remove flaws in the existing system. It is not in authority of a teacher who are overburdened by many may private universities because owner of such universities taking many extra tasks from them instead of only teaching. In fact they imposed research on teachers. How every teacher can be good I research, some are good in teaching and some in research, we should segregate both things, but Our hec demands then such people blame teachers. Solutions of this issue is not to stop studying in universities its to improve policies. Many private universities are in market and their owners have concern with quality they just want quantity the how a teacher can hold such a pressure on his job, definitely quality compromised. Even students have mind set that their university life is just time pass and they even do not bother to spend precious periods of their life to get skill, they want mouj masti on parent's money in their universities. Universities are not the place for spoon feeding which you are permoting, students should have self learning capabilities under teacher guidance. Students needs spoon feeding that's why they consider universities as a place of fun and such private learning centres as source of information. This approach pave the way of other private teaching business, as our school system has become. Parents hardly bear school fee still they need to send their kids to academy system either its matric or O level coaching centers. If both systems runs parallel we will further destroy our system. Instead of introducing new type of academy system at university level better to improve polices and curriculm at hec level and use make existing system good. Because in both systems teacher are involve. So blaming teacher is not right.
U r very right, we cant deny the importance of education in any society. Though there is dire need of teaching practical skills as well in our universities. No society can survive with digital skills only.
