I used melmetal with rock slide, mewtwo with psystrike and machamp with rock slide and dynamic punch. It did pretty good, even better now that I have DIB
Glad to see the new move here at the beginning of the season. From the looks of it it charges fast and really could use a minor upgrade as well as an animation exclusive to Melmetal. There's only a small number of fairy and rock pkmn in Master League so I doubt it'll ever get a lot of play.

Is there any reason why none of these are maxed? 2 melmetal boxes can essentially max one out, we've had dratini comm day, and Lugia has been in raids plenty

At 6:45 what did you mean by "1 turn bring in"? I saw that melmetal already had double iron bash energy, but somehow it went for thundershock instead. I assumed you would at worst CMP tie. Is it some issue due to lag or some sort of "overtapping"?
Thunder shock and mud shot both are 2 turn fast moves. Generally when both Pokémon are in sync, have the same amount of turns for their fast moves, and one throws a charge move, the Pokémon that didn’t throw should get an extra fast move to sneak through. However his melmetal didn’t get a thunder shock to sneak through because of turn delay. It happens sometimes and niantic stilll has not fixed it.

No, the spammiest is Smeargle with Lock On+any 35 energy move

@@zackolot smeargle has, as return and frustration is not eligible on Smeargle, by taking a snapshot of a pokemon with Lock On and these charge moves, it will reroll and hopefully get a 35 energy move

pair it with an Excadrill level of level 50 or 51(Best Buddy) and you'll be unstoppable
i myself use Melmetal Excadrill and Haxorus/Dragonite XL for my Master League team and I win most of my matchups

Metagross loses the 2 shield scenario vs Dialga and also in even shield scenarios vs Zacian if Zacina has an energy lead.
Melmetal can lose from both for the same reason. Dialga can take 1 superpower and if has Thunder could flip the game. But at least, Metagross is a real steel Pokémon tha it makes sense. Melmetal is just a shit Pokémon that doesn't reserve a buff

This is exactly my Master League team. 🤍 Been running it ever since Dragonite got Superpower, recommended it to a lot of people and they've done mostly well. Wish I had the resources to fully XL Lugia and Dragonite, been running Lugia since Day 1, all the way back in Pre-Season, when we had to walk to battle. 🤣💔 I wished Double Iron Bash would have been a Fast Move, man was that gonna make Melmetal dominate Zacian without compromising on the Rock Slide coverage. 🔥

Steel is just a bad offensive type and fighting+rock is just way better coverage. It’s similar to how registeel and cobalion don’t use their steel moves. I wish they didn’t make the base power so low for a mythical Pokémon’s signature move.

It may work but losing fighting coverage in a meta where steel types are extremely common is pretty bad as melmetal cant hit them for any meaningful damage
And even then if you want to reliably counter fairies i think its best to use another steel type such as metagross

It's definitely faster than the spear idk what they damage comparison is you get to the bash every 8 turns or 4 thundershocks spear is 10 turns 5 powder snows

I just decided to get the ticket and I honestly don't regret a thing. Nice cosmetics and an amazing exclusive move that allows an extremely meta relevant pokemon in every league to be even more threatening by opening up the opportunity to be more spammy with it's charge moves. If anyone is curious about whether or not you should get it, yes. Whether it's through the ticket like me or through an elite TM, it's worth it to get Double Iron Bash
