I came here to find out ways of continuing my 3d modeling journey to now be curious about something else that sounds interesting. Like, a design generalist? Mmm? what does a design generalist do? you should make a video about it.
My issue with C4D is how recently they have been changing the entire UI and even tool names. Makes all the older tutorials harder to figure out. What are the best comprehensive C4D courses that arent out of date?
Hi, sorry for the delay in getting back you. Are you a member of the Greyscale Live Community? If not this would be the best place for you to be for updated tutorials etc.
Good timing or what! Thanks so much, let us know if there's a channel/course that you've used to help you! Their RUclips channel is also packed full of various tutorials!
They have many courses and they are very high quality I believe the main way is through recorded videos but you get access to a teaching assistant who can help you along the way
Have been using Cinema 4D before, even did the Cinema 4D Basecamp of School of Motion. But I work at a company using Blender now. So I have been learning Blender for the last months; incredible to see what you can do with free 3D software. Should a motion designer keep using C4D for it's collaboration with After Effects? Or is Blender good enough to make the cut to free software these days? I don't want to spend time on learning software not fitted to the industry...
Thanks for this comment! It's always good to have as many skills under your belt as possible! There's a lot of other software out there that's used in the industry - Maya is a popular one, and Unreal Engine too (and so many more!)... It's a difficult question to answer, but I think we'd recommend C4D over Blender mainly for the reasons you've said!
Remember, everything is just a tool to get what you need. If you can use them all, why not. C4D with AE is not bad. Depends on how big projects are. Some of them can be pretty mental and if you don't have 128 GB Ram, you are kinda screwed and everything takes ages. AE start squeezing your RAM to full and working can be unstable, so in my case I have to close eveything especially workign with 4k now.
What do I do if I cannot afford Cinema 4D right now? And am not a student as well. School of motion provides a license but for only the duration of the course
Hi Anas! I would recommend taking a look at some cheaper/free alternatives such as Blender. This should let you get to grips with how the process works, and theres a great community of people sharing models/assets for free or cheap!

I have the same problem
Yeah, it definitely does a bit exploring to do.
Great links! I also recommend Cineversity RUclips channel. As well as Athanasios Pozantzis AKA Noseman.
Thank you! Do you want to see another list?
Thanks for the shoutout!
Your channel is fantastic, thank you!
Hey, I was looking this up a couple of days ago! Thank you for making this video. Greyscalegorilla actually has a free introductory C4D course.

@@MotionHatch I'm big fan of school of motion courses but now i can start with the SkillShare class i checked it it's awesome
The courses from SOM are outdated. They use a old cd4 version and the dynamics and simulations doesn't work. I did not recommended
400usd for GSG annual is such an overpriced unluckily.
All of these are not free, unless you see paying 900+$ for a course free 😂
