Yes, in a way what Ozai said came to pass. Just not in the way Ozai had imagined it. Banishing Zuko was the biggest mistake Ozai ever made, and it became his downfall.

Okay but zuko had iroh and his mother, azula had no one. Everyone feared her and she was taught that's how it was meant to be meaning she was taught to always be alone. Azula is the one who rly had nothing but her strength and the fear she posed, once that was gone she had nothing left. Basically as cool as that line is, it's complete bs that azula was born lucky and never struggled.

Which is also true to real life martial arts - I do not remember if it was Jackie Chan or Bruce Lee (could have been neither of them), but one expert once said that in an actual fight they would not be using all the complicated techniques that they use in movie productions. They would more or less use just the most basic forms of their art.
@@Luke_Danger This is very true; when adrenaline and stress runs high, your most concrete, basic techniques are where your mind falls back to, which is why it's highly emphasized in martial arts that you train yourself to have a solid grasp of foundational techniques. Moreover, why more traditional martial arts train years to master the basics.

Not only is this track amazing in it's own right, it's first appearance also marked a pivotal moment in the series: The moment when we first started rooting for Zuko. This was the beginning of his journey towards truly gaining his honor.
YES! The best thing is that you don’t realise that you’re rooting for him until the middle of the agni kai, and when you do you’re really surprised and know (don’t ask me how) that it’s not going to be the last time you root for him
Yes, and I think this is exactly what is missing in the redemption arcs of many other characters. You need a reason to support them, and the Agni Kai between Zuko and Zhao was the start of that for him.
@@RedRobinTitan And it didn't even need for Zuko to explicitly voice doubts about the side he was on or about his own actions. All it needed to start us rooting for him was to show us that the other bad guys were treating him like crap and how generally unhappy he was. It showed us that Zuko was an underdog in his own world. And at the same time, his duel with and victory over Zhao showed that he was determined, honorable, and that he had compassion even for an unmitigated asshole like Zhao.
His redemption arc didn't start with him wanting to change sides, it started by showing us the character traits he had that would ultimately lead to him changing sides.
@@sayerglasgow115 Absolutely! Who Zuko was as a person, even at that point in the series, made him someone to be interested in as a viewer. He was always someone worth rooting for, even if we didn't exactly know it when we started the show, he just had to grow. I think it's what makes his moments in episodes like The Blue Spirit, and the season 1 finale - especially his attempt to save Zhao from Aang's fury - flow beautifully into the man we see him as by the end of the series.
one thing that i noticed when i rewatched the series a couple of days ago. Zuko was basically a protagonist just as much as aang,just focused on him less. It shows zuko's pain and struggles just as much as Aang. Even parallels between the 2 we didnt know yet. This show is so stellar man

In the first agni kai with zuko and admiral Zhao, Iroh constantly tells zuko "remember your basics" and "go for his roots!" So zuko fights more basic than Zhao, but in the defining moment, sweeps his leg, which ultimately wins him the fight.
In the final agni kai against azula, zuko does fight very aggressive yes, but when azula puts him on the defensive, he does exactly what iroh taught him, and actually beats azula with the same leg sweep.

Since each bending was based on a actual martial art style, that's not a bad thing. In your case, Look at Northern Shaolin style for inspiration.
Two Tone yeah I actually do karate myself I’m a black belt I’d say my karate is a mix of fire and earth bending and I do the same thing around my house
@@lunarcomet5189 Awesome! There are many Martial arts that with practice are effective in hand to hand. It depends on what you desire also, defense, offense, or lethal injuries as to the style you prefer. I like Tae Kwan Do for offense, and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for defense. there are more deadly types if you are going to have a military career like Krav Maga or Combato if you really just like killing your opponents.
Or you could be like me and learn to use a sword.
It's a simple tool, but in the hands of a master, it becomes the most versatile of weapons.
I’m probably in the minority but I think earthbending was the coolest. Their movement is so strong and powerful when they bend the earth. And idk why but it seems the earth benders are much better at fighting together than the other bending types. A whole group of earth benders will work together to move a mountain or something like that.
Zuko was such a great character. Best redemption arc I've ever seen written. Or possibly not, well, because I'm blind, you know.

Best avatar fight in my opinion, gorgeous choreography, story, reversal of roles with asula being hotheaded now and zuko being calm. Zuko using all the techniques he learned from waterbenders, earthbenders and of course ang the air bender against azula. Zuko is the greatest redemption arc character ever in my opinion.

I would also like to add a few Pokémon soundtracks to that list - particularly all the tracks relating to N and Team Plasma in Black and White 1 and 2. You can just hear N's transformation in his themes - Prisoner to a Formula sounds puppetty, then the theme in his room sounds as though it pertains to a golden childhood, but really wasn't. When you go back to his room in BW2, you come to a broken music box that is slow and fast and it sounds like the idyllic childhood was seen for what it is. And the theme when you finally meet him properly made me feel so happy, because I knew that he was now his own person. He was no longer ruled by Ghetsis, much like how Zuko broke out of Ozai's shadow.
Also 'An Eternal Prison' from X and Y. That piece is just beautiful and sad. And there's another one with AZ, when his long lost friend returns at the end of the game. Also Kiseki, the credits song.
