I met Ryan at the Blade HQ grand opening in Pleasant Grove, UT, and he is one of nicest, humble, and most down to earth people I’ve ever met. It was so busy that day, but he took the time to speak to me at length and even show one of their Timex Watches that they were about to start selling (awesome watch by the way!) I was so impressed with The James Brand Knives that I bought four that day.
Love James Brand. I still use my Chapter knife daily and it was one of the early ones from when that was their only product. Pretty sure I bought it from Huckberry too!
Hey. I loved this profile! It's odd to see some of these comments, though. If you don't like the product or company, don't give them your business. But railing against them in the comments is pointless, wasted energy. If you've got a better way or a better idea, then do the work and make it real. Otherwise.....
For a long time, as the price of Chanel increased, I no longer thought I could afford it. I think I'll be happy that I have the kislux as my travel bag that I don't have to take care of. By the way, I'm sure no one will have a hard time telling the difference. Thanks for the comparison.
That's from a collab between Draplin Design Co. and James Brand. You can snag it off the Draplin Website under the merch tab. Looks like they have XXL left in stock.
Disappointingly the james brand products are outsourced and made in China and Taiwan. It’s unfortunate when you see a company touting American culture small business etc but then they don’t even use American manufacturing. They need to rethink their philosophy and take a tip from companies like America Giant, Nicks Boots and many other American small businesses that actually support our country and economy instead of only looking for profit. Especially when you are asking $60 for toothpick holder that probably cost .25 to make in China.
I honestly don’t think these guys actually bring all this stuff. Like I hate a heavy bag and I know so many people that hate a heavy bag. Anywhere I go, drum practice, America, gig, down the country in Ireland, a weekend a way, some where in Europe or to a friends house I bring little to nothing. This guy has all his possessions in a bag. If he lost this he’s screwed.
Everyone's EDC and travel essentials are diffrent! Sounds like you might like a lighter load when you travel, which is great for you. Some people are willing to carry more stuff on the day to day because they know they will actually use it (which is also great) More often than not, this is actually what Ryan carries to the Jame Brand office every day. (Obviously if he isn't flying a plane, he doesn't bring his flight bag with him) but we thought it was an interesting take on a "pilot's EDC" so we included it in the video.
Hipster, Chinese made, low quality knives. There are many better options, more utility, better materials, fit and finish, for less money and made in a country who actually ats its citizens like humansn.
hey! that's us! Thank you Huckberry for having us!
What brand of hat is he wearing?
@@cgkidwellPeace Neighbor - Bone and Branch Hat
Do you happen to know what brand/model of glasses frames he is wearing?
Hey would you consider putting only one logo on your products? Either the symbol of the James lettering

Great background story. I like the way you think, Mr. Coulter. Keep up the fine work.
Great video! I especially loved the explanation of the name of the company. Well done.
Huge James fan. Great video. Keep it up Huckberry!

My Chapter is my everyday knife...my version 1 sees a lot of apples, boxes and zip ties.
James Brand knives are really nice and well made but damn they’re expensive for the steel you get
Which spectacle is Ryan wearing?
Any ID on the cap he's wearing?
The brand is Peace Neighbour
Does anyone know the glasses frames he's wearing?
Can we get more info on that wall system ?
@thejamesbrand You are definitely James with this EDC great video y'all! 🔪
Anyone tell me about the hat? Thanks!
Love it 👌🏼 🎥

He’s a Pilot. And has blue eyes.
So he’s a pilot??
Ryan is a man of many talents!
Why are we cutting a fly line with a knife
... What else would you use to cut something? I suppose scissors, but, why?
@@radusnyder4341 Because you immediately damage the line when you use a regular, straight-edge knife! NEVER use a flat blade to cut a fly line!
There were no small knives back 10years ago 😂😂🤡🤡

Oh look, another knife made in china but the pricing seems like its premium and made in the US. 🤣

Tell him his products are just an overpriced garbage.

This guy is kind of a tool. Not in the useful way either.
