Tuomas, Jukka, Emppu and Tarja are originally from Kitee, a small town of 10 000 people near the Russian boarder in Eastern Finland. The only other things besides Nightwish I know about Kitee are "Kiteen kirkas" "The Clear of Kitee" a local moonshine and a baseball team, the Finnish version of baseball, pesäpallo.
Moonshine is needed for Finnish guys to hug, or an icehockey world championship. Finland has won the title three times. That's when Finns hug strangers, and in Helsinki people "swim" in the fountain around the Havis Amanda statue, some naked. There is a saying "Torilla tavataan!", "Meet you at the sqare." Now the saying has been inflated. Finland mentioned abroad is enogh to say: "Meet you at the sqare!"😁
