Tulsi would absolutely be my first choice. Not only would she bring a lot of independents and moderate Dems, it could possibly pave the way for an independent to have a chance at actually becoming president and get us out of this awful two party system where we have to vote for the lesser evil every election cycle. She supported Bernie Sanders in 2016, how she makes the leap to Trump since then make me suspicious. With that said, if getting elected is the main goal, it's probably a winning ticket.
Democrats are by far the more dangerous threat to our Democratic Republic than the Republicans so far in the 21st century. But the backlash could easily reverse that. I would say the completely artificial two party system is the actual root cause. It is becoming more and more obvious that it is really a uni party system where the federal government as a whole is against the citizens.

Your certainly not wrong but in modern parlance outside of a political science seminar “democracy” is understood to refer to “representative democracy” or “constitutional republic.”

For example, leftist "journalists" and commentators aggressively use it to denounce GOP who are talking about our democratic republic. And ultimately, they don't mean representative democracy, they mean actual democracy as in the majority controlling others. It's obvious by their context.
Of course, when called out, they'll run to the "democracy is understood to refer to representative democracy" argument. And the only reason they wat the democracy redefinition is because they believe they have more democrats and can get away with it. Before that became the common thought, it was more about "doing what's right."

I hope we all know that it doesn't matter who is in the 'top job' because this is a systemic problem -- greed. We have allowed many of our economic sectors, to take advantage of the American people. It's disgusting and frightening for the future of our country. I plan to retire at 62 in another country outside the US that is free, safe and very cheap with a high quality of life. I could fully just rely on only my SS if I wanted to when that times arrives but I'll also have at least one pension, a 403 (b) and a very prolific lnvestment account with my Abby Joseph Cohen my FA. Retiring comfortably in the US these days is almost impossible.
I know this FA, Abby Joseph Cohen Services but only by her reputation of being a former employee at Goldman Sachs; even though she's now involved in managing portfolios and providing investmnt guidance to clients. I have been trying to get in contact since I watched her interview on WSJ last month

Well, one side favors centralized government, is authoritarian, is redistributionist, is collectivist, is hostile to individual liberties, favors the fusion of governmental and corporate power, and is identitarian. I would say that side is the real existential threat to democracy.

How much do Republicans spend to put drug users in prison? The deeply absurd and hypocritical War on Drugs is the epitome of Big Government overreach and wasted taxpayer dollars. Republican politicians are so anti-freedom that the vast majority of them even support the prohibition of cannabis, which is a drug that is vastly less harmful than alcohol (although it isn't completely harmless to everyone, of course).
Democrats aren't any better, sadly enough. The lockdowns, mandates, and cents or ship really opened my eyes as to just how totalitarian Democrats are, the effects of which now make it impossible to freely share my opinion here without fear of being silenced for engaging in wrongthink.

One of the things that I find interesting about politics is that when something happens that may be unconstitutional to a political candidate, the opposition to that candidate fails to validate that whatever happened is unconstitutional. It’s one of those things that are left unchecked. What the public doesn’t recognize is, if the government or media or whoever can open that political door and do that to a political candidate, they can do that to anyone; including candidates and members of the opposing party. In short, what’s right is right. What’s wrong is wrong. The checks and balances just need to be enforced.

(1) So, what is the federal government's Department of Health and Human Services' criterion for "poverty"?
(2) It refers to a person earning $1,250 per month.
(This is not a standard for a family of four. The number of young people living alone has increased, and their rate is over 30%.)
(3) Do you know how many of these people (the poor) there are? I do. You probably do not.
(4) In 2021, it was 11.6% (37.8 million people).
