Rory was that kid at school that when you’re discussing a question after an exam that you all thought the answer was 376, he somehow got Colombia
Columbia *

I understand what Buvey is saying. Like Sean Dyche was never relegated with Burnley, then Kompany brought them up and immediately got sent down. One’s managing Bayern, the other is managing Everton
But then it's quite unfair to compare Kompanys short managerial career to Dyches much longer career
Dyche got relegated with burnely in 2015..
because boovey is doing surface level analysis lmao, theres lots of reasons for that but the main one is playstyle
It‘s a fair point, but when you then consider that he‘s pur Lopetegui (a shit coach) in 6th solely because of his CV, it‘s rather hypocritical.

We lost in the final to Barcelona under Wenger in 2006, so no, Unai didn't get us the furthest we've been in the last 20 years.

Tbf it’s dumb how easy John folds especially since it’s Liverpool
Good to have one on the table that is fully decisive tho
@@walshknwsbest no it’s not, because he doesn’t think then locks in his opinion and that’s that…
Take his thoughts on Eric Ten Hag for example, he’s allowed to think he’s rubbish but the only argument he’s ever put forward to support it is “8th in the league” and “you’re man united! Where’s the standards” where’s the logic?
Last season for Eric ten hag wasn’t good, but he also had to play OVER 30 different defensive combinations in one season, of that the same combination of centre backs didn’t play together more than 3 times! He had to deal with Sancho, Ronaldo AND Greenwood in his time aswell.
He can still think he’s rubbish with all that in mind but he literally cannot argue against anything! He literally just repeats his original statement again and again whilst ignoring the valid points that he’s been presented with
@@Deathmare235 not even slightly, what argument could he actually have presented?
Tbh most people never change their mind in a debate people say it’s to change peoples opinions but really it’s just and excuse to argue
Poor editor is gonna be sentenced to listening to Rory for the rest of time after this one 😭
It's an absolute myth that Emery failed at PSG btw. Won the domestic treble, which is only France but had never been done before, and has the highest points per game in PSG's history
And got completely robbed against Barca in the CL

That’s just a die, the Uber eats treble has been done plenty of times and out of 4 of them emery had the worst ucl finish

Emery disrespect is unreal in these comments he didnt fail in psg he was there 2 seasons and won 5 trophies out of 8 two of those 8 being champions league which is a hard thing to win.
At arsenal he got them two points from champions league position first season after wenger left. And he took them two a final
If he was given the time that they gave. Arteta he may of won more than arteta has. I say may as no guarantee ss he didnt stay there .
But look what he done at villa took them from 17 to champions league and they look like they'd be there again this season . He is just classed as underated as arsenal fired him is just lazy journalism and lazy pundits who slated hin because the way he spoke . The media always wanted arteta to make it because of they could make city arsenal as a big game for extra money . Pep vs his apprentice. Thats also why they was hoping kompany could of done the same
And arteta is still better than emery
@@Deathmare235 congratulations to arteta on finishing second 🤣 ten Haag a better manager than arteta more trophies prove that in two seasons he has more trophies in England than arteta in 6 👀

16:45 I hate Ten hag but "lost to Spurs" It was literally the same Spurs that knocked City out a round prior 😂😂
Buvey makes a great point at the start. It speaks to Ange’s story. He’s a victim of geography. There is a bias where the European football establishment view anyone from Asia as inferior, regardless of the fact that he’s won four titles in Australia, a title in Japan where he doesn’t speak the language; 5 trophies at Celtic; an international trophy, the Asian Cup & 25 years of coaching experience; more than any other manager in the premier league.
Let’s see what he does this season
But also I get Rorys view too because now he has the opportunity doesn't he? He can show it with Tottenham
@@alexnawrot8464then again Rory said Sean Dyche could’ve went to Real Madrid cause he was in Everton
@@Deathmare235 Didn't he say if he won with Everton then he could've went to Real Madrid? I think he meant that if he pulled something like that against Man City, Arsenal, Liverpool that he'd have a chance to be somewhere bigger. The way he makes things sound is a bit overdramatic but it would definitely boost his chances at higher managerial positions
They are inferior leagues though
Putting lopetegui in this list just Tells everything about buvey’s ball knowledge
Fucking hell Lopetegui is horrible
Is this the same guy saying ‘do you watch football?’ Who put Liam Delap in a top 10 striker list?
Mate, you don’t watch football.
Arteta was allowed to finish 8th two years in a row. Emery had a toxic team he needed time to clear out and was sacked for finishing higher.
Arteta has been given far more rope than Emery had and has benefitted from a better structure under Kronke and Edu than Emery had. It's just objectively true.
It was night and day, there was a clear shift in everything when Arteta came in, it was honestly getting pathetic under Emery, everyone had given up.
Emery didn't win anything in his first 10 years managing, I'll bet you didn't even know that.😉 Arteta has only been a manager 5 after a 3 year rebuild and already has a cup under his belt but expected to have won more than Emery with 15 years less managing time. He's already slapped Emery's Villa away this season when it mattered. If Emery wins something at Villa within the same 5 year period as Arteta, who is already expected to win the PL and CL, then we can compare. 😉
@@helicoptersrkool Arteta won that FA Cup with Emerys team. Since he built his own team… 0 trophies.
I honestly don't think Emery would have succeeded at Arsenal. Not because he's a bad manager, I think he's great but because of the environment he walked into, the culture at the club had fallen big time towards the end of Wenger's reign, the amount of toxicity in the squad and anyone following Wenger almost seemed destined to fail, like Moyes after Fergie. I only think Arteta was allowed the time he was given was because of his prior links to the club. I'm glad things worked out with us and Arteta and that Emery found success at Villareal and is doing well at Villa
@@helicoptersrkool And what did Arteta do last season against Villa apart from drop 6 points? All they needed was a draw out of those 2 games and they win the league, so Emery wins that one. Emery could give away 2 of his European Titles to Arsenal and they still wouldn't have more than him as a whole club. Also, he never failed at PSG. He did the League and Cup double with them, so that narrative is bollocks. Arteta needs to get over the line in the league or he'll get "Gareth Southgate" syndrome - There's only so long you can be a "nearly" merchant before questions get asked.
“Arsenal went unbeaten against the top 6” ?? Unai Emery’s Aston Villa beat Arsenal twice last season

Don't try to use logic with these clowns. They want Arsenal fans to feel bad so they clutch at straws but we get to watch good football every week and they don't so they're a little salty
@@Osas-097gh And yet after all of that Villa finished 4th, Chelsea 6th, Man U 8th. Emery had been at Villa almost 2 years now and during that period Villa has been 4th in points behind City, Arsenal, Liverpool with Villa having around one third of the budget the big 6 teams have😎✌

Emery vs Arteta is definitely the spiciest topic in premier league managers. I think that people don't talk about the pressure at top clubs right. Calling it "pressure" kind of hides the actual difficulties. Man U is probably the highest pressure club in the world in terms of Manager expectations and having to deal with superstars and a stubborn board. Maybe Emery is worse than Arteta at getting a team of superstars to listen. But when teams work with Emery he is definitely a tactician who can take wins in knockout stages.
PSG was ROBBED by barcelona at that game, there is NOTHING embarrassing about being robbed at broad daylight by a team and losing due to it, i love this historic revisionism to defend your arguments.
31:00 rory is right for once. No matter how many accolades pep collects and how he implemented the modern methodical style of football. Ferguson was one of a kind that will never be topped. Brought a 3rd division side fighting relegation to division one champs in 3 season. Then his European and domestic success at aberdeen that is second to none in Scotland. AND THEN, his whole mancherster united career and being able to maintain the top level of success for that long. Pep genuinely could never, and especially in the future, his manchester city success will surely be tarnished soon enough.
You could just as easily say Fergie could never do what Pep has done? What you’re doing is holding Pep superiority against him. Pep literally took a barca side, which the year before were failing. Had one of its worst campaigns in their history and won the sextuple in his first year of management. The first manager to win the treble in Spain, beating Fergie in a final btw. At Man City, he did what Fergie literally said was impossible to do (the domestic treble). It’s a lot closer than most people think. What you’re implying is disingenuous and clearly agenda driven.

FACTS
Arteta has been a manager for 4 years and came twice in the league getting Arsenal back in the Champions League for the first time in years and losing by 1 goal away to Bayern. How you comparing him to managers who have managed multiple clubs and have almost 2 decades of experience 😂 Mugs!
lmfao thats the softest excuses for failure ive seen. hes done nothing and will contunue to do so.
Anytime people wanna criticize arteta the excuse is always “oh it’s his first job! It’s unfair! He plays pretty football” so should we just not rank him? Should we give him a pass for bottling the league twice? If emery would’ve bottled the league from the position arteta was in, he’d be laughed out of England. Emery is a serial winner. If you wanna win trophies get emery, if you want a man that maybe might deliver a trophy but for sure will get you 2nd place get arteta
So arteta making arsenal a European giant is being a bottler while emery actually bottling it in France makes him a serial winner

Fulham fan over there probably thinks it's harder to win the league with PSG than to win the league with Leicester because why else would you think it's tougher to manage to win things at Arsenal than it is to win any European silverware with Villarreal or get to the Champions League semi-final?
Classic Rory move, he just does what he wants 🤣
John has some of the worst opinions man. Comes across well and has good communication skills but his takes STINK
Unai won Europa 3x in row with Sevilla, do you know how that happens? meaning he got knocked out of the UCL back to back in the group stages. Unai has been a manager for over 2 decades, didn’t win anything in the first 10years, Mikel is just 5years in with an FA cup. Don’t let anyone gaslight you by mentioning he’s won Europas, Unai can’t manage expectations at PSG he came in when they had won the Ligue 1 4x in a row and lost to Monaco
They all change their standards based on who they are talking about. Is it just Trophies, or just winning percentage, or just playing style? dose the support from owners/summer budget matter? If you are no measuring using the same standards then its hard to come to the same understanding of the task.

Sean Dyche got Burnley into Europe btw.
He is so disrespected. Never had the luxury of finances unlike most other clubs. Doesn’t get any plaudits because of the ‘way he plays football’ but that type of football got him results and surely results should be priority. Jed said last season was the first time arsenal didnt lose to a top 6 side, even tho Villa did the double over them
Please stop saying Emery in Europe. There is far more to the man than Europe. I have to say that to run up the table like what he has done from 17th place 4th is huge pressure. All done with 3 ACL's by way of Mings, Kamara & Bunedia. Everything happening at Villa is far more impressive than Emery's record in Europe. It's the time taken to get our club back up and running where we belong. Arteta is a tit. The pressure of Managing Villa is far more pressure than what Emery has done before but he still gets the cigar out and does his touchline dances like it's just easy. He has been given the keys to our kingdom, which I have to add is something Arsenal would never do which was their downfall. I heard that Unai when at Arsenal wanted Wengers pictures taken down from around Arsenal Stadium. PSG isn't worth speaking about, others have failed at PSG. PSG no longer attracts the same media attention & shirt sales have declined since the departures of Messi & Neymar. The club and Ligue 1 have lost their bargaining power in sponsorship negotiations and overseas TV deals. Technically he is on par with Pep, yes....he is. When we destroyed Man City in the only show on earth to do so ever to Pep....that says it all....go on....watch it back. Wolves played us recently and suffocated our midfield knowing that if they didn't the score line would have been like that of a cricket match. Unai was 1-0 down so he did his thing bringing on our wide players to technically out do poor Gary the novice with his limited knowledge and the midfield opened up like the fucking Dead sea opened by Jesus!! Gary got pay back from no hand shake last time out. Wolves then, with no option but to capitulate going out wide giving Barkley and Co free regin and the rest was history. Unai isn't perfect but no one is.
No andoni Iraola in the top 10 is outrageous
I understand the argument for emery over arteta, but arteta has done a great job rebuilding arsenal. Also his first job all the other top 10 manager have loads of experience

Arteta is showing clear signs of progress as Arsenal manager. ETH isn't. Yes Ten Hag has lucked his way to a couple of trophies but there's a reason why United fans have been disgusted with their team in recent years whereas Arsenal fans have been very content or even happy. One team is clearly moving in the right direction.
@@tomzknight7412 not saying United are not in a tough position because they do and they have a lot of problems. Points per game in Premier League:
- Emery: 1.87
- Arteta: 1.87
Pretty impressive if he has only done mid table compared to Arteta at a club like Arsenal. Not to mention that's just the Premier League. If we include trophies, longevity and europe.... there isn't a leg for Arteta to stand on.
Arsenal fans acting like they gave emery the same grace they have given arteta lol
No Iraola is criminal
Acting like arteta has dominated the champions league?
25:38 The best example is Arteta taking over a failing Emery side, pulling it together and winning the FA Cup
Because he was given 2 years allowed to finish 8th and hundreds of millions to spend every year.
@@as8603 He won the FA Cup less than nine months into his first managerial job, what's with the two year BS? I was pointing out Arteta won the FA Cup with Emery's failing team.
Don't get me wrong, I like Emery....... but that doesn't alter the fact... does it?
Caring about a style of over winning cups or finishing in a euro place is why no football rivalries matter anymore, no one cares no matter what Rory claims or imagines
Emery is a very good manager, but he’s had the opportunity to show he is great and he has failed at it. Arteta, on the other hand would be close to greatness if he can get Arsenal to win major trophies. Potential absolutely counts, and Arteta just has more potential than Emery.
The premise at the start set by Buvey is utter waffle..
spoke about style of play being a factor in rankings and then put Nuno top 10 lmao
Style of play that gets Wolves in top 7 two seasons in a row and has Forest on the up 😂
Love the Arsenal fan talking about Arsenal as one of the biggest clubs, they were years before Emery, they were years after him. They werent a big club around that time. City, Liverpool, Chelsea and Utd all far bigger. Arteta took them to back to back 8ths. Thats the Arsenal Emery managed. If you wanna slag him off, its the fact he couldnt take an 8th placed club like Sevilla or Villa to the Champions league with Arsenal.
Buvey going off about structure and executives not helping a club yet the only reason his clubs won anything is because they got their back room in order and broke all the rules is hilarious
saying arteta is better than emery is laughable
Emery won nothing in his first 10 years managing professionally, Arteta has 1 cup in his 5 years managing professionally, so counting Emery's trophy's over a 20 year period compared to Arteta's 1 cup in 5 years is stupid. Arteta even managed to do it with the mess he inherited from Emery, something Emery couldn't even do at Arsenal. You can only really compare them to what they did in their first 5 years, which means Emery has 4 more years to win something with Villa with his 15 year experience he has on Arteta. The same standard must be applied to them if they're forcing a rivalry, the goalposts can't be moved to ''But it's little old Villa''. Emery's also held an L to Arteta at home this season.
Emery got his first managerial club promoted in his first season with them, got his second managerial club promoted in his first season with them and won the Europa League in May 2014 which is less than 10 years after he started managing (December 2004).
It's always frustrating when this Unai/Arteta debate comes up. People completely ignore why Sevilla was always in the Europa League under Emery. They either had poor league form or they finished 3rd in their group in the Champions League. Unai Emery's champions League form is absolutely horrendous. Winning Europa Leagues is obviously impressive, but there's a reason we're talking about that instead of the Champions League. He wasn't good enough
Not a mention of Iraola is crazy.
Emery can keep his shiny European medals, but I prefer Arteta at Arsenal.
We’re not talking about how they got battered by Bayern munich because they didn’t get battered by Bayern Munich 🤣
Enough of this ranking players managers shit, it’s soo boring. There’s so much that goes on in a weekends football you could cover
When it comes down to it noone wants Poonai Emery at their top club
