I bought the green version of this watch in the spring. Fits fine on my 6.5” wrist. The end links have lots of curvature in them. The ETA Powermatic 80s are awesome movements. I have about 4 of them and they all run within a few seconds per day. So much better than Seiko 4R/6R movements that run all over the place.
@@adiwirasaputra4887 It’s OK but nothing special. The bezel and hands are a bit stronger than the dial markers. On a good charge it’s visible most of the night. But no where near as good lume as a Seiko or Citizen dive watch.
As much as I wish they’d update the bezel inserts to ceramic like the larger 43mm DS Actions, I have to admit the sunray colour match between the dial and aluminum bezel insert on both the green and blue models looks amazing. A ceramic bezel wouldn’t be able to pull this off as beautifully.
Ahhhh chucks! I would have loved to hear that ratcheting on the bezel! 😉 Kidding! It's nice and simple with no "over the top" look-n-feel. Thanks for sharing this one.
just bought the 43mm version. This one doesn't have the horrible divers extension but actually has one of the best adjustable bracelets I've seen. Also the ceramic bezel is a cool upgrade.
Tolle Uhr. Ich liebe sie.
The 38mm size is a win for me and my small wrists, but the clasp is a shame and could be a deal breaker for me. I have its older, bigger brother (the 43mm) and its clasp is much better.
@@keefw361 I mean lug to lug is often a more important dimension than diameter in determining whether a watch will fit well on wrist. 45 is okay a little on the shorter side. I have a Hamilton khaki mechanical that is 38mm and 48 lug to lug which seems ideal.
I am confused between this and the Tissot PRX Powermatic 80. I have a 6.1" flat wrist and I am scared to get that PRX Powermatic 80 because of the lug to lug. So I really want to know if it will wear well on my wrist. I visited the only retailers in my country who can get me both of these but they dont have one on stock at the moment so I can't wear it to know whether or not it'll fit my wrist or not. So I want to know if the PRX or the Certina will fit my hand better. Please let me know if anyone happens to know, thanks.
Have both, and no doubt Certina will fit you better. PRX wears like a 41 or 42 because of the square case and the integrated bracelet. PRX looks beautiful on medium-large wrists. The DS on 38mm is the right pick for you ;)
@@_fiftyseven_ that's the centre of the end links that would tilt down. It wouldn't be as much of an issue but probably worth trying it on first for size.
6:22 To get a better clasp, you have to get the 43mm version. I was in doubt to get that size at first but I find the clasp to be really useful for my situation that I just pulled the trigger and went with it. I'm happy to report that I' m happy with it, and luckily my 6 ¾ inch wrist looks okay sporting it.
Who told you that Powermatic cannot be adjustable?? There is a false myth about that since this calibre appeared in 2013. Here you have a video where you can see how is 100% adjustable: m.ruclips.net/video/oPf042EIyF0/видео.html
Too expensive and worse?? Steinhart is a truly copy of a Rolex, while Certina has its own personality... no need to say more regarding calibre, finishings, price...
I don’t comment on the price. This watch is better than a Steinhart. Is a different kind of product. I also like Steinharts, it is great that they exist. Sincerely, if you have wear this Certina watch, you know it is a great one.
I bought airplane wifi to say first, it’s become that important to me

Thanks for reporting in on the accuracy. I agree and think this movement is far superior to Seiko 4R/6Rs!
How about the lume ??

Exactly right. It is everything you need with out anything extra :) Sorry about the bezel sounds, it's one of my favorite parts to record haah
Just bought my first Certina divers
Greetings from England 👍🏾
Awesome, hello from the USA :)
I have six Certinas. Very overlooked brand.
Agree, they deserve more attention!
The elusive Certina has entered the JustWatches ring
LOL love this comment

Oh interesting, I didn't realize the 43mm has an adjustable bracelet. Solves one of my main complaints!

Sold my two tone. Great watch but got bored of it. Looking to get the black on black version but waiting on a sale. Very solidly built watch.
It isn't flashy but it was so solid. I miss this one!
Great review. Live this watch. Do you know if there is an aftermarket ceramic bezel insert?
That would make it perfect
I am not sure if they do unfortunately. Apparently the 43mm version comes stock with a ceramic bezel!

Yes, I have heard the 43mm has a better bracelet, bummer it wasn't on this smaller size as well!
Super good watch. Really accurate too❤
It is such a solid diver! loved my time with it
I have 7.5 inch wrist so the longer lug length will make this smaller watch more wearable for me.
This would be perfect on you if you like the 38mm size!
45mm is not long lug length for a 38mm it's standard. I don't know how you think this is long in your review

how's the crown action? does it screw in properly?
It does indeed! Quite smooth action as well :)

50.5mm. Lug-to-Lug ... I agree, what's the Point of making a 38mm. "Perfect" sized Watch if the Lug Length is So Long...🧐
Totally! They don't show enough love to the small wrists out there haha
Ддддд
Pretty boring design, too bad they don't offer the high beat 2824-2 anymore.
It is quite a simple design.
I just wish they could just get RID of that useless INNER CHAPTER RING!
On all DS ACTION models... it makes all look... cheapish...
That is fair, I find that is often true - a chapter ring can ruin the look of a watch if it isn't done correctly.
Way too expensive and worse than a Steinhart in every way. Powermatic movement isn't adjustable, so that kills it at that price.
