We've been to Blue Lagoon several times over the years starting in 1985. They've definitely made improvements and added to the amenities as well as the cost. Still worth it.

That "beetle" you were showing on the rocks is actually a seafood we call "Curb" here in the Bahamas. You peel it off with a sharp object & you can eat the meat inside just like that or it can be added into a conch salad! Which is a delicacy here.

The first flattish shell attached to the rock is also known as a chitin, pronounced K-ton, and is a good source of protein.

Have you ever considered writing a cruise planning guide? Where to start-what to consider step by step, etc. I think you could make a few bucks and do a digital product. I’m just starting to plan our first and I don’t know whether to decide on the ship or cruise line first 😆

my wife and I are going in January for the 1st time, been watching a lot of videos on what to do, would you recommend doing this for 1st timers?
It is a decent option but we preferred Pearl Island over Blue Lagoon, hope you have a great time!

We went to Blue Lagoon on Celebrity Apex Feb of 2021. Just after they lifted the mask rule. We were not on “Adults” excursion. We were on the Dolphin Encounter. The chairs were all broken. The beach was closed at that time. No booze unless you bought it. Food was terrible. My husband got on the platform in the water for the Dolphin thing and immediately turned around and left. The platform was shaky and not stable. I did it but didn’t think it was worth the one little pet you got of the Dolphin. The lagoon tide was out and we had knee height water. They advertised it like you could come and go on the water taxi. Nope. We had to go and come on the one and only water taxi early AM and came back in time to get on the ship. Totally thought the excursion was overpriced and NOT worth it. Would not go back ever.
Yikes that’s a nightmare. We don’t think we will go back either. Lots of other good options to take advantage of
Do you think it would be better to get a day pass to the margaritaville resort in Nassau instead of going on this excursion?
For us I think we would rather go to Margaritaville for the day from the looks of it, if the cost is similar
@@JoshRachael The cost is definitely similar! I already have the resort pass booked for the day but I saw that Blue Lagoon excursions were back so wasn't sure if we should try that instead. It was $100/person
So I am a MGM gold card holder, how do you get the discounts on Royal Caribbean as we are thinking of a cruise next yr and i want all the perks linked to my card. I was platinum (grrrr, dont even get me started on that one).
Oh man MGM really messed up the tiers last year, we are also Gold now. We were able to do a cruise through our MGM Platinum to Royal Caribbean. We just called the number on the MGM Rewards website that talks about their partnership to RC. Got us a free 4 night Bahamas cruise, then we gambled about 1/3 to 1/2 the same spend as we do in Vegas on the cruise and have gotten all our cruise offers since that!
I'm thinking about doing this excursion on my Celebrity cruise in January. Do you recommend this adults only excursion. The water looked pretty calm. Did you mention they took you to a different part of the adults only beach area? I read on some other reviews that the water in the adults only beach was rough.
We actually preferred Pearl Island to this one. The Adults only section is at the very end of the lagoon and then there is supposed to be a spot on the open water side but they said it was too rough for us to use so that made it disappointing for us since that is where we had hopes of snorkeling but didn’t get to this way
Thanks for the tour! I have a question, mimosas are not included with the drink package in the morning? Is that only for room services? That's weird. Is it like that for all RC ships? My first is in 6 months so no clue what they do.

Would be possible to use a stabilizer or some other device so the camera isn't so shaky as you're walking around? We all get so motion sick from it unfortunately
Technically yea however gimbals are quite large and reduce spontaneity which is something we enjoy when making the content. I do understand it would be smoother for sure but a trade off we make for more candid content.
Yall are the only people ive ever heard choose Pearl over Blue Lagoon
We liked the fact that Pearl Island is smaller, more secluded feel, along with the open ocean vs the lagoon that is basically 4 feet deep maximum and it just felt maybe more corporate if that makes sense
We just saw a video of Independence of the seas being hit by a freak rain/wind event. Were you guys aware of this or on an excursion at this time? It is difficult to know the actual timing of your cruises.
