Great vid, Dave. The G10 Pyrite is my EDC and a stainless Pyrite is my 'desk knife.' We may need to rethink the term 'budget knife.' As these become more pervasive, they will soon be the 'standard knife.' 👍

That's a great point... I would agree with that...
I love the Pyrite, but I don't carry it as much, because of where the button lock it and how it works. For hands my size, a small button lock knife is fairly easy to accidently disengage the lock when using the knife harder... My thumb hits it, and could cause it to unlock and close on my hand if I were stabbing into something...

I thought right away this is artisans bugout with the steel frame . I don’t know what the linered version is like . I’d like to try the premium one now . I do like artisans valor knife Ferrum forge design . Doesn’t get attention tho.

The Pyrite is awesome! What stopped me from buying one is the 3.1” blade. If it was 3.0” I’d have bought it in a heartbeat when first checking into it. That may seem trivial to many but living in a state having 3.0” blade length carry restrictions has caused me to stop purchasing carry knives over that length. It runs into the same issue as a lot of my 3.25”-3.5” knives which I no longer carry. Now sure, if one were stopped here with a 3.25” knife the great likelihood is that to a cop using discretion and common sense you’d be let go. In fact I was pulled over on the bike last Spring for an expired sticker (first ride out of storage. Had the sticker just hadn’t put it on the plate yet) and was carrying a 4.25” blade. The guy let it slide just telling me not to carry it. He was a good cop but that’s just the thing. When carrying over the limit one is relying on the discretion of authority to go their way. Technically “over is over.” The limit is the limit and even if a blade is only 0.1” over if I ever found myself in say, a self-defense situation where it turned out the state really wanted to put a case on me that 0.1” adds up to a charge. Why take the chance? Accordingly it’s very frustrating that some knife companies don’t consider this especially with the growing number of states with 3” restrictions. Does the company sell enough that they don’t care about making sales in restrictive states simply because it’s more important to them to add that extra 0.1”? Seems to make no sense but hey! Great looking knife for sure and that was a great review of it! 👍

That sucks, but have you considered moving back to America? ;-)

@@Daves_Man_Cave I know right! But I need to be here atm as I’m an only kid taking care of both elderly parents. Don’t want anything to happen to them of course but when the time finally comes I’m outta here! There’s absolutely no reason to live in Illinois unless one is tied to the state by work or family. Sure there are a couple ok sites to visit but for the most part this flat, boring state beyond belief sucks! Some day I’ll be back out West 🙏😆

@@LeashMechanic It just makes no sense to have a limit like that. Is there really a difference between a 3" blade and 3.25"? Different people have different size hands, and so a 3" bladed knife is often too small for some folks, because the handle is typically proportional to that blade length. That's why I rarely carry my Elementum, despite it being one of my favorite budget knives of all time.
Do what you gotta do for now, but when the time comes, get the hell out of Dodge and get your freedom back! 🙂

I doubt I would ever get one.... I like the idea of it, but its not the kind of bike that I could ride the way that I want... Too much money for something that I wouldn't ride all that much.
But I do appreciate the comment to help the algorithms.. 🙂

@@GeorgiaGrowGuy I rode a Rocket 3R today. It's a very interesting bike, but it wasn't as fast as I was expecting, and it doesn't have the ground clearance to ride the twists that I ride. It was an amazing piece of engineering, and the way it hides its weight is amazing... But I felt a bit underwhelmed by the speed of it, and while I admire it from an engineering standpoint... I just didn't gel with it.
I enjoyed the new Tiger 1200 GT Pro a lot more...
