The steel they used on those old expandable bits had to be of a higher quality. The appearance when cleaned really is spectacular. I love that Irwin logo stamp on the shaft. 😃👍
Nice Habitat haul. My local store never has any "good stuff" like this. I really like the Irwin bit in the box and that Craftsman variable speed drill is just plain awesome. I could have used that round punch last night! 🤣
Well all the H4H are managed by different people. The one closest to me has their tools way overpriced, so I don't go there too often. The one close to where I work is great for selection and price! I stop in to check out others as well. The Akron location had almost no tools at all. The Canton location had a small tool area, but it was very poorly organized and not much selection. The one north of Mt. Vernon Ohio, is well organized with a great selection, but the prices for the oldest (coolest) tools were higher because the tool guy there was pricing based on EBAY! So you just never know until you stop in to check them out.
That ACE driver is for 1950s era General Motors body screws. The odd metric wrenches were from the tool kit of a car from the 1950s or earlier. I saw them about 50 years ago but don't remember the car. Nice haul and video. Good Luck, Rick
@@clarencebrown3256 Cool! I gave them to my son who has several old toys including a Honda Odeysey and Honda z50r Thanks for the info and THANKS FOR WATCHING!
My guess is the same as yours --- that a previous owner converted a tool box into a tackle/bait box. Just a shot in the dark. Your Habitat tool finds are great. I have found a few nice things, but I have never found so many cool things at our local HH, so I quit going. Your success encourages me to try again.

Yeah I have been collecting those everytime I find one for a reasonable price. I have never used one, but I imagine that I will so I need the tools. Right? 🤔👍😀😎. Thanks for watching and if you liked this video, check out some of my past videos you will probably like.
Great haul! I stopped by my ReStore on Saturday and asked where their tools were, the man pointed to an area. All I found was a big leaf rake missing half its tines. I guess my store ships all its tools to your store.
Bummer! Well there are several H4H near me that have very poor tool selection and organization, and there are H4H near me that are good and great! So it is a bummer that your closest one is a bust, but find the next nearest one, or one that is near to a place you travel to occasionally. Unless you live where the towns are very far apart, there may be a decent one you can get to. Good luck and THANKS FOR WATCHING! 👍😀😎
Yep. Tampa Bay has a few. I was picking up a new microwave and realized one was just down the street. I will start checking the others out as well. Also, our huge Goodwil store has Zero tools for sale. I need to find out where they part them out to locally.
@@wingnutsworkshopTampa Bay! I don't think you'll find too many good OLD tools being donated in Florida. I feel like you need to be in a rust belt area, or at least some area that had an industrial base at some point. When I think of industrial, I do not think of Florida! Our goodwill never has tools either. I assume they dispose of them somehow. Good idea to find out where they go.
Hey! Thanks for the info! Knowing that, I bet my son would really like to add those to his tools! Thank you for commenting, and THANKS FOR WATCHING! 👍😀😎
Never ever thought about shopping at Habitat ReStore for old tools. But then I seldom go deliberately hunting for old tools. Sometimes it seems like the tools find me🤔
Once you become known by friends, family, and coworkers as the "old tool guy" the old tools will definitely find you! But seeking them does bring them faster! But... Fair warning, it is quite addictive. 👍😀😎
Elephants. The little holes are breathing holes for little tiny elephants. If you were in Kenya back when they didn't really check carry on luggage. ( Your clothes and stuff would go in the big trunk )
That sounds nice, but I never have enough time to "dwell in my shop". I am lucky if I can get out there for an hour a week. The kids, the dog, the house, work, all keep me out of the shop. I long for the time when I may have the freedom to spend hours at a time in my shop. God willing I will live long enough to do so. Today was a great day! A busy day, but great! The lady-folk in my family were all occupied for a few hours this afternoon so I had quality time with my son. After church, we were at the hardware store, the grocery store, the pharmacy, the auto parts store, we had lunch, AND we went to a tool sale where we got some great deals and may have found my son's first car (a 1974 Jeep Wrangler). When we made it home, I made dinner, played with my seven year old daughter, then while my wife took the seven year old to bed, I had to sit out on the back porch with the dog to keep him out of trouble while everyone else was getting ready for bed. At least I can catch up on RUclips while sitting on the porch, and now in bed. Though I really need to get to sleep. I have a conf call with P&G tomorrow about a new style for their laundry bottles. They say a busy man is a happy man. I am sure that is true, but I would rather be busy in my shop!
Well I certainly applaud your creativity, but no. :) We have a lizard, but I will not be transporting it anywhere in my cool new toolbox. Thanks for watching!
I know you can use it to punch leather, but I assume you can use it to punch anything other than steel. Thanks for the info and Thanks for watching! 👍😀😎
Hey Larry! I looked that up but I am not 100% sure what it is used for. Apparently it is also sometimes called a butterfly style. When looking for info about clutch screws, I see one way security screws that I only see people installing with a flat head screwdriver. Is the clutch bit supposed to install the screws easier than a flathead, or will the clutch bit actually remove the clutch screws? I don't have any of those screws to try it out on. I may have to hit up the hardware store and look for 3/16 clutch screws just to try out this screwdriver! Thanks for the info and Thanks for watching! 👍😀😎
I've got one but can't remember may have used it on carburetors. I know the screws your talking about they are a type of tamper proof screws.clutch screws are resesed damn I can't remember but I'm 77 years old.
Great Tool Haul! Bonney. The vise is very cool.
Great tool haul. Thanks for sharing. Have a great day.
Those are some great tools. Especially that Simpson Sears made craftsman drill from 1966 when I was 11.😊😊
Agreed! Thanks and Thanks for watching! 👍😀😎
The expansion bit is really neat and in the box no less. I have one that belonged to my father. Really good haul - I love to go to H4H! Regards, Bill.
Thanks Bill! 👍😀😎

Yes it is eye catching! I also like how is says "US of A". The auger bit character in the instructions is also a bit of marketing fun!
