Hey! You guys should make one of these that has an interval option! So you can arpeggiate different intervals sets, for example, major seconds, minor thirds, etc.
Regarding tap tempo - don't forget, we all used to be stuck with delays & tremolos with no tap feature. I think this is going to be one of those pedals you can build songs around.
They keyboard players union is on your case now. Dont cry when your tires are punctured and the lawsuits keeps pouring in. Thousands of fathers are jobless now. hope you are happy with your little pedal.
Hi EarthQuaker - neat pedal. Is there a mode that allows you to play a chord and the arpeggio is constructed from the notes in the chord, like on a typical synthesizer?
Where abouts would this go in my signal chain? I have my modulation before my drive currently because I like the subtle colouring, but my octave pedal after otherwise the sub gets destroyed by my fuzz.
This is extremely cool! But I would have liked to hear this in the context of a song, or something. I still can't wrap my head around how I would use this, why I need it, and what it would really sound like...other than just something cool to tinker with. Hopefully somebody will buy one, and make a better demo soon!
This video would be great with some actual music or a real world use for this pedal. It sort of seemed like a noise maker until I watched other videos with people actually using this device to create pleasant sounds. Me thinks EQD needs to hire Stephen from the PedalZone to do their demos.
I dont want to sound rude by comparing products but, just want to be sure - is it similar to the eventide pitchfactor in terms of the arpeggating pitch notes thing? The EQD looks more specific (by exploring that effect and its complexity) which I prefer ..
Big fan of EarthQuaker Devices. I saw the press release on Premier Guitar and I almost lost my mind. I've only seen a handful of pedals attempt this. None of them had the ease of use and simplicity. Glad this video was made to show the different modes. Is this polyphonic? I can still see a lot of use regardless. How well does it track with dirt or fuzz? I'm thinking this is one modulation you'd put in front of your chain for the best results (the odd exception). Great idea, great execution.
Hey! I haven't tried it with active electronics, but it tracks my passive basses great! Also, if you turn down the "Step" and "Rate" controls, it does a cool subharmonic/octave effect that changes depending upon which "Mode" you select.
I think the fatal flaw of this pedal, despite its genius, was that it follows a major or minor scale and not an arpeggiated chord. 'Scalanoid' doesn't really have the same ring too it but would be more apt. The MkIII I hope will have selectable chords and voicings. Who doesn't love a gorgeous major seventh arpeggio for a sweet Stranger Things rip-off? Intelligent key selection and tap tempo would be amazing as well. We might be getting into double sized pedal territory here but why not go deluxe.
I am in a looping band similar to Battles. I use it as a kind of click in a few songs, having it in a two-step setting where a note oscillates between 2 octaves at a moderate rate. Other times I use it in the classic dance-synth type arppegiator way.
1-Major: -1 octave to root. 2-Major: root to +1 octave. 3-Major: -1 octave through +1 4-Major: Random pattern 5-Minor: -1 octave to root. 6-Minor: root to +1 octave. 7-Minor: -1 octave through +1 8-Minor: Random pattern
hehehe...its something im looking to do for sure, only recently discovered the stuff u make through that show us your junk series, and now i think i'll have to hurry up with it! i usually put fx on drums after recording, but live would be even better! keep it up =)
All I do is play bass through plenty of effects. It nearly sounds the same as guitar on this. Here's a fair sample of it with bass. Not that I'm trying to plug my channel soundcloud.com/stellarcycle/simulacrum
@@EarthQuakerDevices Ha! Well no kidding! I have 6 Eqd pedals spread across two pedal boards. I did hear from a bass player who dialed it in using a metronome. Would love to make it part of my composition/ recoding process…just not there yet
Not a fan - got mine yesterday and returned it today - for ME the item name should be "ARP-ANNOYED" .... Way too tedious ! This pedal is really NOT a true arpeggiator for it will NOT allow you to reproduce the same sequence of notes twice in a row. If I pluck a "D" note for example, the sequence plays fine - but then pluck that same "D" note again and the arpanoid pitch shifts it up or down a half step instead - pluck that same "D" note a 3rd time - now its a whole step higher or lower - Guess that would be great if your style of playing is to be consistently off key with the MIX, or if you want to compose some kind of strange alien landscape music which is totally random and completely dissonant ..... but this pedal would require WAY too much time to find something that would work in a composition for me. I had expected an actual arpeggiator pedal, one that will allow me to play the same note twice in a row and get the same exact result duplicated - this one is NOT that pedal ...... HERE >>> is an example of an arpeggiator pedal working like I expected - ruclips.net/video/3hEvA1EzdDM/видео.html SORRY ARPANOID - I just don't have the time patience to get you to produce the results I need :-) ordering a MERIS ENZO ~
Thanks for trying it out. Feel free to read all of our product manuals on www.earthquakerdevices.com/devices in order to find something that suits you better before you buy. Have a great weekend
It is polyphonic, it tracks perfectly no matter what you play or where you place it in the chain. Sounds best after dirt pedals. Thanks!
Here because of the Pedal Zones visit in the basement. Yes this is an underrated pedal. Makes me think of a Euro-rack quantizer.
jonas eggen ha i just got done watching that and came straight here
i am also here because of that
Hahaha same!
Ha! Me too!
I bet 3 of these in line will unfold the secrets of the brown frequency.

can not wait for this! watch this demo several times a day cause still in disbelief...so happy you guys made this- thanks
Amazing. Although i feel like this needs a tap to be usable live, no? I mean it's going to be fun, but arps are so much better in time...
I haven't been this excited for a pedal in a long time. I'll be getting one immediately!
Combine this with the rainbow machine and man your really day trippin huh lol...
I love the way this thing has both wet and dry controls.
They keyboard players union is on your case now. Dont cry when your tires are punctured and the lawsuits keeps pouring in. Thousands of fathers are jobless now. hope you are happy with your little pedal.
Can we see what happens when you put some deep reverb on it with the Rainbow Machine?
Hi EarthQuaker - neat pedal. Is there a mode that allows you to play a chord and the arpeggio is constructed from the notes in the chord, like on a typical synthesizer?
Sounds like "Tommy". Another winner from Earthquaker.
Hi Ben, no that would be nearly impossible. This was a difficult task to tackle as-is.
Hi Earthquaker Devices, is it possible (if yes, how) to do the ripple arpeggio effect like on your Spatial Delivery with this Arpanoid?
Where abouts would this go in my signal chain? I have my modulation before my drive currently because I like the subtle colouring, but my octave pedal after otherwise the sub gets destroyed by my fuzz.
Arpanoid handles all locations very well. Does great in the fx loop and all the way to up front...
Sounds awesome, I actually prefer the sounds on tis to the Rainbow Machine but wish it had the exp. pedal input.
I clearly need this.
I want 2 of these, for simultaneous use.

Probably 8 years too late but idles released a song called grounds that uses this kind of delay
i wish eqd would make an arpanoid with stereo i/o, maybe midi in, too, perhaps in a deluxe edition...
FUCK YES!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOOOO!!!!!!
Thanks got this demo, been waiting to hear it :)
Why did I even take the time to learn arpeggios when this device exists?!
I know :(
Or synchronization with MIDI clock.
It's still a great pedal though, I can't imagine all the obstacles they went through to build it.

Hey Marcus, there are no plans for a v2 Arpanoid with tap-tempo at this time. Sorry!

I'll also add that the addition of pentatonic major and minor modes would make the patterns a lot more forgiving over more complex chord progressions.
just ordered mine:)
