The guy who caused literally created the problem.
I was just going to comment the same. He literally invented "alternative facts" (electioneering) and single handedly created the vial political climate coming from the right. He encouraged Republicans to "speak like Newt" by describing Democrats and Democratic policies using words such as "corrupt," "devour," "greed," "hypocrisy," "liberal," "sick," and "traitors". He advocated use of vocabulary crafted to produce a desired effect; including use of the term death tax instead of estate tax, and climate change instead of global warming. Since his work in the Republican party has metastasized to Trumpian MAGA Republican politics, he must have found refuge in the UK.
This is the guy who came up with 3 word phrases. He's the one who coined the term death tax .
Sadly its already there, largely with the assistance of Australian imports like Amanda Platell, Linton Crosby and Angelos Frangopoulos. And, of course, the whole Rupert clan.
Sunak's new thing about 'standing up for the motorist' is just his latest con. It is a straw he's grasping in the desparate hope of turning the tide.
Seems like he's already abandoned his 'stop the boats' mantra cos that has been a total failure.

@@xyz12345457I'm pretty sure you didn't. The state of American politics is derived from declining education, and increasing corporate control which both came out of America. Also, America is itself a religion and which is why the original commenter wants to "Make Britain Great Again" ... probably forgetting that Great Britain is actually a geographical label for the largest of the British isles.
Billionaires are destroying democracy because they want restore democracy and restore feudalism.. They don't have a nationality, they want to rule us from above. The only solution is to restrict their ability to interfere in our politics and economy. Limit their contributions in cash and kind, tax them and break up their big corporations...

So fair enough, it's complicated, global media is global - but it was US corporate culture that made US politics what it is today - and that's what's spreading.

It’s weird to hear ordinary people described as ‘hard working tax payers’. I’d say it’s an American thing, but it’s now tories too. They have a sort of Lego model of the country, which leads to a childish obsession with tax cuts, at a time when literally everything is broken.

They are also sliding into a dysfunctional dictatorship under a fascist who is openly talking about executing and imprisoning his political opponents. So I don't see their future going that well. Dictatorships don't have a good quality of life for the average citizens.
