74 VW Thing is the host's car, the best 2.3L Dune Buggy ever that it wanted to be!

Tried to break into cable TV with this pilot. Got an education and great time with my crew on a micro-budget. Con Schell is a superhero! Dude is smart, came prepared, was a dream for me trying to pull this off. I sabotashed him with line changes late, had I known more, he could have shown his personality more. Sal Collura, f'n impressive even without the Steadicam, dude has the eye. Sal as DOP made the best images, and staff got a fun adventure. The Pismo Police were the coolest law enforcement I ever met. The beach vibe deal perhaps, but just sharp nice people. Pismo rocks for casual party dune buggy/truck party.
So that was my 74 VW Thing I had been dune-ing for half dozen years running the Oregon dunes, Florence was our favorite! Good ol girl for a Dune Buggy Digest's host car. It's living it's best life in Alaska with my nephew.
Do you know what it takes to sell your cable TV pilot to ESPN, ESPN2, SPEEDVISION, Race Network, OUTDOOR Network in 2002? Me neither. :)
