both are awesome artists
Really helpful and insightful. It's quite a confusing, complex subject matter
LePage is, you know, go-ood
What year is this from? Btw, its fantastic :). I'm writing an essay on reading realist vs. reading contemporary performance and this is more helpful then you know.
What LePage is saying is that Thomson doesn't have to prove he means it. Rather, he has to Argue. Thomson has it wrong - he has to be "real," but real in communicating the words and their images, not his conviction. Thomson isn't "INSIDE' the word.
Because acting does involve craft and is about the character.
He is describing Brecht's verfremdung... actor 'playing' the character..
how about mic for the maestro??? we couldn't afford a second mic???
