There is a book, called ,legend and lore of southern ill ,don't have the book loaned it out ,n never got it back,and don't remember the author , but a great read about treasures
I think you meant to say "...during the Revolutionary War the British held outposts in Illinois" NOT during the Civil War, obviously. George Rogers Clark's activities in Illinois were amazing but sadly mostly forgotten today. One other minor point: You're mispronouncing Kaskaskia. It ends with a soft "a" sound (like uh) just like the spelling indicates. The name has four syllables, not three. Kaskaskia later became the capitol of the Illinois territory and, later still, the first capitol of the state of Illinois.
