      I am having the same problem now. Just 3 years after I bought it (fold 2). Acturally just completed the final month of finance. Right on time for a flaw designed producte to be broken. Beisdes the black screen, the whole backplate just came off byitself for no reason. Its all glued up upon close look, and glue weren't even applied evenly. Just looks like your average 10 quid kids toys that amazon sells. What a rabbish design. I'd never buy samsung product in my life

    I guess I was blessed. My Fold 3 screen cover developed a hard crease dead center that was slowly growing the full length of the phone. I took it to the Samsung Experience Store in Stanford Shopping Mall and they replaced the screen cover in under an hour while I ate and enjoyed the mall. Installation was so perfect that it looks factory installed. Sorry to hear that the service isn't consistent. I've been telling everyone how great it was.

      I think I will still remember to tell people that it was the Samsung Experience Store in Stanford Shopping Mall "Specifically" that presented that wonderful experience. Don't wanna present the whole company in that light if some of them are leaving people hanging. I love the Fold and can't even imagine losing all that space I have to work in while still being able to fold it up and stick it into my pocket. So the success of this product will depend on after-sales customer service. They gotta do well on that if they want word of mouth marketing to bolster their digital marketing.

      The Samsung Experience Store in my place tried to walk me into not initiating the warranty claim in my 6 months Z Fold 4 in the first place. I wish I was as lucky as you were, I'm still waiting for an answer from Samsung to the purple/black vertical line along the crease my phone developed when unfolding it normally.

Went to the samsung authorized service center and am told it will cost about $900 to replace and am like waao thats the about half the price of a new fone . Am in Ghana West Africa and am wondering how many people here have similar problems. From the comments lits clear theres a general problem and if samsung is obstinate in denying responsibility, then class action is just appropriate. This happened my fold 3 literally 1 month ago, also 10 months into the first year, they told me it would be a 10 day process checking and repairing. Samsung also tried to blame me and their customer service team were rude to me also, and they wanted £479 to fix it. I ended up having to put a complaint in to Samsung and their complaints team decided they would cover it as a gesture of goodwill. They had my phone for 3 weeks before I got it back, it was not a good experience and has knocked my confidence in Samsung
    The S pen should work on the inside screen despite the current damage due to the pen working off of a different layer of the display.

    It's well known that samsung avoids by all means to replace the inner screens . There is a legal issue also . They said that can replace the inner protector one time free of charge , (customer don't know it when purchase it ) that is not true as this protector is pre installed from the factory and eventually over time starts to failing .you can always make some mess in the samsung store to replace it free of charge whenever this factory made issue occurs. Have replace mine inner protector on fold 3 two times already and never wait to see lot of bubbles. Even from first signal of defectivens I am driving samsung store to replace it . If you want your phone lasts after the 2 year warranty you have always to replace the protector afterwards. • @roslolian11
    @roslolian11 2 года назад +9

    Yeah from what I've read about when that screen protector starts bubbling it means there is air already in between the screen protector and the screen, when you close the phone the air applies pressure to the screen damaging it over time.
    So if you see that protector start bubbling take it off or bring it to any CP store for replacement asap. The unit itself can withstand 5000 folds but the shitty plastic protector starts to wear down after 8 months of use. Samsung should have tested this or give their users prior warning. I had that same issue and when I closed my phone I can hear my screen protector crackle. That scared the shit out of me I immediately had that crap taken off and had a new hydrogel screen attached. Worked like a charm it looks and feels brand new now.
    My tip is dont wait for Samsung's official screen protector cuz its a shitty plastic protector anyway. Its not worth risking your phone cuz that screen replacement is expensive.

    I faced the same issue with my fold 4 here in the UAE after 10 months of usage. The crease bubbbled and eventually the black line developed and the entire inner display went black.
    They refused the samsung warranty and i had to pay 575 dirhams (160usd) as i had samsung care plus.
    This was so rude on Samsung's part not to honour the original warranty as this is clearly manufacturing faut.
    The reason they cited was a small dent on the botton part of the hinge. I was using the original samsung case with the pen which ironically has no hinge protection.
    I was told that samsung online policy states that the fold device is a 'sensitive device' and hence is vulnerable to drops .

    Been saying it for years...these phones are heavily flawed in design alone. They REQUIRE this screen protector-like adhesive to hold all of the extremely sensitive pieces on these phones together, and one wrong move, literally, will spell doom to an extremely overpriced type of phone that does nothing special in terms of functionality.
    You basically threw your money away on a poorly made luxury, not quality, device. I'm not surprised that the dimwits that heard, instead of seeing your problem, immediately thought it was a user error due to the damage to the screen. That's all they needed to base their poor judgement off of, despite not actually assessing the issue because...they could only hear about, not physically see the issue you described. In other words, customer service reps and door knobs go together.

    I have the fold 4 that just went over a year old. The same exact issue with screen. Started peeling at top, then the black started down the middle. Now the screen is totally unresponsive. I'm waited on my replacement from T-mobile, then on my way to trade it for the new iPhone. I'm not even going to open it up. I've been a Samsung fan for years, even through the blow-up phone. (Note 7)
    But this has made me lose my faith in Samsung. I even carried back a new Samsung TV i bought last week.
    Also, when i carried it to a Samsung authorized dealer, they just rolled their eyes when i walked up with phone in hand. They already knew what was going on before i said anything.

    I have the exact same problem with mine purchased in September 2021. I wanted to get it fixed by my mobile ISP and they simply refused for the same reason as you.
    I am from Apple... I have never had any issues with them, I think I will go back to them soon enough.
    I am extremely disappointed.

    I bought the fold 4...regret, regret, regret. Got the inner black screen of death. Thanks to youtube I opened the phone (not under warranty, still have months to pay for it on tmobile) and am waiting for parts I ordered on ebay. Once I fix it, and pay it off, will NEVER EVER GET A FOLDING PHONE AGAIN. To many moving parts.

    I had a bubble in my screen protector for over a month that didn't happen to me I had a new screen protector put on than I brought a whitestone premium and put it in myself it looks like your fold 3 was bent to far when you open it everyone says I never drop it looking your front screen it looks like it been drop before anyways to get it fixed get insurance through your carrier it's a lot cheaper doing it this way just a heads up and it cheaper if you ever need the screen fixed with AT&T it's $299.99 for a like new fold and $29.99 for screen repair I think just a heads up

    • @vandad1248
      @vandad1248  2 года назад +2

      Valid point but it's much more expensive in Canada. It started with a bubble for me as well which Samsung agreed to replace. But 4 months later and they still have not yet received the replacement protector. Eventually the screen gave out. I bought the phone directly from Samsung, not my carrier. Their protection plan costs the same as fixing the phone. 40% of the phones cost, $800 Canadian. It's cheaper to buy a Google Pixel. As for bending too far this is the first I've heard. It seems odd that unfolding a foldable screen is bad for the phone, it's kind of the purpose of the phone.

      Where is my free replacement? I was on the phone with them several times, spoke to several different people, including managers, but I got nowhere. I wish I had taken pictures of my damaged phone before I sent it. When I get my repaired Fold4 back, for which I had to file a Care+ claim to get it repaired, I will be making a video about it as well. It's good that you had your phone repaired, but those free repairs you're talking about, as you can see from the majority of the comments, we were told to "f off" with a sorry, saying it's our fault. I want to show you the perfect condition my phone was in before that claim; it's not my fault.

      Same thing happened to me today. My Fold 5 all of a sudden developed a bubble in the middle of the screen. It was irritating but didn't think to much about it. 2 weeks later I noticed that there was dead pixel circle coming from around the bubble circle which made me worried. Went to a repair center to replace the screen protector and yes, the screen where the bubble formed is damaged. The repair tech told me that Samsung would deny me warranty as the hinge was scratched... I explained to him that I'd never dropped the phone, always had an original Samsung case on (obviously I'd doesn't cover the hinge) but he told me that it was no use and that I should sell it as quickly as possible and never buy a fold from Samsung again 😮 Like WTF... Asked how much it would cost to repair the screen and was told 600 euro. Biggest regret ever buying this phone
