I just saw a video on RUclips showing that the plastic connecting pieces that are inside the trunks (where the legs connect to) are on the wrong side. If you swap these the legs will connect properly and also allow for the legs to move back and fourth.
I don't see how that would work, the legs I'll look at the figure though. Do you have a link?
@@dHuntersReviews ruclips.net/video/1svanUZoNQs/видео.html
@@dHuntersReviews I meant to say the hip peg piece. where the legs connect to are on the wrong side.
I did fix the leg issue with a little work. I sanded down the back part of the leg pegs a bit and then rotated the legs as I forced them on and now they stay on.
I was able to make mine quite a bit better as well
Mostly from heating and warping the legs
Still come out, but no where near as easy
It suck that the BAF is not that great but I'm probably gonna end up getting it anyway cause I do like the figure that the BAF come with.
Yeah I’d still get it if even if I knew it would be like this.
It's not the worst BAF ever or anything, it just has issues. And if you can get past the fact that his posing potential is heavily limited, and the skin color issue, it's still an ok figure to have especially if you're a collector. Plus, since you like the figures that come with his pieces, it's no loss anyways.
I'm wondering if Bane can be reclaimed by cutting the shorts overlay into briefs and resculpting the pants on top of the hip joints. Of course for a $100 BAF, this ish should've been sorted out from day one.
I cut the bottom of his shorts under between his legs, and his legs can move some now.
Have the same issues with my Bane legs and right hand keeps popping out of the socket. 😤 I already tried the hot water method and that didn't work.
Use hot water on the arms and keep the hands room temperature and they should fit in pretty nicely
@@dHuntersReviews thanks for the tip!
I just assembled my bane together today! I had the same problems. I’ve come to find out the if you move the area that looks like shorts, move that cloth up the legs snap in better! Also one of my hands is loose, I’ll have to heat up that one like you did!
Heat up the arm, not the hand and it’ll fit in nice
I too had to move the shorts a bit for one of the legs, still was not ideal, but was much better than before moving the shorts.
Yeah, there are little things you can do to make it better, but it is a fail in the execution department to say the least.
Yeah the leg joints inserts are way too shallow. Why wouldn’t they just make them deeper?
No idea, the hip articulation is hidden and useless too
I am trying a couple fixes on Bane, hopefully I can make him better. I was able to get the hands to sit in pretty good when heating up the arms again and shoving the hands (hands not heated) into the soft sockets. I was able to make the legs sit in a LITTLE better by heating up the legs, making the socket soft, and squeezing the soft leg sockets around the pegs while running cold water over it so it would harden a little tighter. Still comes out, but sits considerably better.
This piece is really amazing I just wish it had more articulation and I feel that he could have made it way better the hands I put on there were a little hard but I finally got it in fully where it won't come out anymore
Yeah, I also got my hands on good now. I do wish she had articulation in the hips, it is actually very articulated but the shorts block most of it, I saw some guy that cut the shorts and he can move it way more than I ever thought possible
Could you tell me your method for heating? like, do you use a hair dryer to do the heating or another specialized tool? I'm new and haven't ever done any heat treating yet, but I figure Bane needs it badly.
I usually fill a microwave safe cup with water for about 3.5 minutes then dip the figure in
Bane is huge I used a large bowl, had to microwave water for like 7 minutes until it was boiling/bubbling
@@dHuntersReviews much appreciated!
_"McFarlane, can we please get thigh cuts?"_
*"You asked for it."*
_"...McFarlane, can we please get thigh cuts AND movement in the legs?"_
*"You mean you want the mozzarella IN the mozzarella sticks???"*
I wouldn’t mind thigh cuts, I’ve seen an ongoing debate that people can’t move their legs like that. Just give them a little bit of thigh rotation at the hip and I’ll be happy.
I was just having problems with my bane legs. I pulled the lower torso cover down, and pulled the leg connector pieces off. Then attached the legs to them, turned the connecting piece, and slid them back onto the connecting pin. Pain in the ass, but they are super tight and sturdy.
Nice
Little confused about taking the leg connectors out?
@@dHuntersReviews its hard to explain, but the parts that the legs connect to can come off. There is a peg that holds them on to the crotch .
How were things attached?
What things?
@@dHuntersReviews All the things.
Luckily I figured it out.
A slight angle on legs & hands, and the other bits just pop in as expected.
The legs won’t stay in very well, but everything else fits good.
@@dHuntersReviews -- Same
My right leg looks great, but there is a noticeable gap for the left... almost making it look like he has Daisy Dukes over leggings.
:-))
Though that's how real world Wrestlers look anyway.
You should Be able to adjust that.
What was the 7th book?
I believe it was another cover variant for issue 3.
How long did you heat up the legs for?
Maybe 3 minutes in boiling water or close at least to boiling
I mostly agree with you on this Bane figure. I totally didlike its QC issues with the non-connecting legs ans loose hands. Terrible BAF BAD guy.
They dropped the ball
I’m expecting a hand written apology from Todd
I had EXACTLY the same construction issues with my BAF Bane, and I mean identical. The legs were such a PIA, the right leg being the most stubborn. I had to sort of bend out the rim of the pants that are on the torso part to get it secured in place and even more effort to get it to eventually "snap" into place like you discovered. Also, for me his left fist snaps in snugly, but his right pops off with very little effort.
Being a relative newbie to the hobby, I was stoked to have this since I felt the BAF Merciless was really decent (not immaculate or mind-blowing though). McFarlane dropped the ball BIG TIME on this Bane. You also hit the nail right on the head with the skin and articulation. I don't need to say more because you said it all, but I'm gonna anyways.
I really wanted to have him in a "one fist meets the opposite fist in a knuckle deadlock" type pose with The Devestator Batman, or in a hunched walk with Scarecrow over his shoulders like the cover art, and honestly neither are possible in any satisfactorily functional way due to the aforementioned issues with articulation. I legitimately can't even get him into a good "walking forward" stance because he looks perpetually upright and stiff. There's just no way to make him look like he's in a natural looking "in stride, mid step" pose even.
I do like it to some extent, I'm glad I have it and don't regret acquiring it especially since I like the other figures in the line anyways, but I'm now a little more wary of McFarlane tbh. I have pretty low standards too, to be frank. I'm easily pleased.
I think more discerning collectors with stricter standards should think hard before going for it unless they like the other figures in the line or, like me, just want to curate complete sets eventually.
Yeah, I’m also happy to have it, but it should be a lot better
@@dHuntersReviews Also, your collection is magnificent, and is super inspiring to me. Thanks for sharing it with the community the way you do. Ttyl.
Thank you for watching
And for the kind words
Much appreciated
The legs don't move forward and backwards at the hip? That's pretty basic articulation to at least move the leg forward and backwards at the hip.
They do under his shorts, they designed a fully articulated crotch area, but the shorts hinder every lick of it
I have seen some people cut the shorts in certain areas that allows him to move quite a bit, I am hesitant to do that as I will probably mess it up...
Man...that blows man......sorry u had these issues with Bane..... I'll be getting my chance to tackle the issues soon so hopefully I can figure something out that is a good fix... Sad cuz he looks good.....👍💀
I’ve made it better, but it’s still an issue
Hands are totally fine now
Legs are better, but...
Have you seen Primal yet? Krog the ape-man is basically the Bane to Fang’s Batman.
I don’t know what you’re talking about lol
@@dHuntersReviews The show I recommend to you, Primal by Genndy Tartokovsy
His head is so tiny. It is normal sized on the cover art, I don't know why they made it so small on the figure.
Yeah, but that’s the least of his problems...
Hey man, glad you found the entire wave of this line. Sorry to hear about our Bane though. Really sucks and I too was looking forward to having this build a figure. I hope you like the rest of the figures and any fixes for Bane you can suggest?? Great review among your frustrations!
Heating up the part with the sockets
Leave the pegs cool
Shove them in to soft sockets
I saw someone cut a lot of his shirts off and he moves great
I’m hesitant to do that
Although what he did looks great
@@dHuntersReviews still trying to find Wonder Woman and Scarecrow to complete Bane but no luck. I hope there's no issues with Dark Father and the Jokerbot build a figures.
I also hope not
Merciless was great
@@dHuntersReviews I have Merciless as well and he is damn perfect. All these issues with Bane is making me reconsider. At first I thought it was hit and miss, but its seems predominant. Toyshiz seems to has fixed his except the hands.
My hands are fine
Legs are rough
There’s a ton of articulation under his shorts that you can’t use
Great review! Glad you had a correctable QC issue
Not really
@@dHuntersReviews Sorry to hear...DANG!
Hey dhunter a cool thing about the scarecrow figure is that you can actually take off his mask
Yeah, he looks like something from Ghostbusers lol
@@dHuntersReviews he does but yeah the bane figure is a disappointment to say the least
He’s growing on me
I’m working on trying to make him better
@@dHuntersReviews oh yeah dhunter so you know that white knight and Arkham joker custom I did it and have been trying to find a good Batman
That Scarecrow skull looks great
Oh yeah, it’s sick
doesn't Wonder Woman come with a helmet? I thought Todd shown us this figure with helmet before
That's an upcoming variant that will be a single release without the Bane part.
@@dHuntersReviews the Bane part is sooooo disappointing.. I think i will skip this wave completely (unless u review the rest and somehow show us that the rest is still good)
The rest is fine
Bane is good, but severely flawed
A hair dryer on hot and cold setting works great for the hands
Yes
I prefer water although I’ve read it can sometimes hurt the plastic
So happy i found the whole set at target with the discount loop hole
Me too, 5 figures for $80
Great value
You had the same issue with the legs? Cause I saw the other day another review where they pointed out the same thing with the legs. I cant believe it!
I've heard it from a TON of people.
@@dHuntersReviews 😵too sad
Frustrating
I only have 2 Batman figures 2 of that wave I need to buy Wonder woman and scarecrow to complete my bean figure but i am never going to open the figures but it’s good to have it
Yeah, keep checking target.com
They are $19.99 there
@@dHuntersReviews Yeah I know I have too chick them out later
Super bummed about the legs. Just grabbed them and couldn’t believe how poorly they fit
Yeah, it’s garbage
Wow, you really sound dissapointed
Like you I was so excited when they announced that the baf would be Bane but ever since its been a roller coaster of emotions with me
Im still planning on getting this wave since so far Ive really have been liking the individual figures... but yeah this figure is a bit of a fail
I wish it wasn’t...
Yeah the individual figures are really the redeeming quality here, they seem to have done a decent job with them. I suppose as disappointing as the BAF Bane is for this line, I'm glad I got it as part of acquiring the line figures as opposed to having to shell out the extra to buy it as an independent release and getting this. But I guess that's sort of like appreciating that the turd is polished before stepping in it! 😂
Try to spin that hip joint maybe its turned backwards
I’ll try anything
I will be getting the storm collectibles bane that doesn't have the qc issues and is bigger for about the same money.
I didn’t really like his rubber outfit, but he’s a nice figure.
True
They both look kind of odd in their own ways, I prefer a more traditional Bane
@ I have him and he is superior to the McFarlane Bane! Gave him the pose where he breaks batz back!
@@alexbenedikt exactly
Ouch my friend, OUCH! I don't have a pony in this race as I am not on the McFarlane DC train, but as a DC fan this is just an epic fail... I know for you this was especially disappointing. I saw a comment that said how fantastic this line is besides the inconsistency. I give McFarlane credit for pumping out tons of figures, and the sculpts are usually top notch, but the execution of engineering and odd functionality choices seems to be the Achille's heel. I wonder if his penchant for choosing look over articulation and function causes some of these fails... Anyway excellent review! and this is coming from a guy that has no intention of buying this line, but I like to watch it from afar to see how it's doing.
Great line, but big fail here, they should’ve done regular crotch, not soft goods shorts/diaper
Dude i cant get the legs to stay on. I bought 80 bucks in action figures to get em and the legs don't stay on WTF.
You're not the only one. My best suggestion, heat up both legs in boiling water, while they are soft, shove them up there are far as you can
then hold them tight around the sides, squeeze them on the peg as you run cold water on them so they will stay as tight as possible
they will still come off, but it helped them be more stable for me
I know I'm late to this, but to supplement what dHunter told you, try manipulating the rim of the "shorts", I had to do this before one of the legs on mine would stay on.
@@King_WhiteWolf i kinda got the legs on, but just standing there nothing touching it both hands fall off. I e mailed the company they sending me a new one i told em to assemble it. I really like how bane looks, its a cool action figure.
Seeing that it goes further back then forward
I’ll try
I’m getting the box set with the pre built one. Hope it doesn’t fall apart dammit
I think it’s the exact same figure nothing changed
First big fail was the DC 1000 Batman, they need to redo that one!
I still like him
Too small head
Shoulders could be better
Awkward torso
But at least you can handle him without getting pissed off
That Batman is pretty bad just cuz of the head too small
@@thebatmanfan2854 I put the Death Metal BATMAN head on it,looks 10 times better, repainted him black too.
@@tonyalmeida5684 nice I got to try that I'll probably end up getting to just to have one custom and one regular and also the torso like it kind of looks weird I'm not sure if it's just me though
Bane’s head is smaller compared to his body lol
Really sad to see devastator Batman is short next to bane as bane towers are over him. They should’ve made devastator a build a figure so he could’ve been at least the same height as merciless
They should’ve, but when they made him, they were not planning to do build a figures.
@@dHuntersReviews I know, they should’ve waited to release devastator in 2021 and release him as a baf
If only
But I don’t see them re doing him
It’s a shame the way it went down
He’s still awesome but is way undersized
I agree but i think the devastator was the best figure by far despite being too little
Yeah, just pains me seeing him next to Bane, which is how he should’ve been.
Your collection is impressive sir .
Thx
If I had it I really wouldn't even bother articulating him. I would just leave it display on shelf.
That’s about all you can do lol
Still happy to have him
If I could go back in time I would buy him again, but I do wish he had more movement in his hip or thigh area
Got the wave on pre order, batman, red hood, bane and scarecrow are my 4 fav characters so was so excited for the baf. I hope my legs go on tidy. Strange how red hood is one of the best mcfarlane figs and bane is one of the worst. This line is fantastic but so inconsistant
Yeah...
I WAS excited
OMG Brother Damnit You Got Em All I gotta Live Threw You For Now, I Had To Price Match Yesterday With Joker & Flash
Aren’t they already &19.99?
@@dHuntersReviews on some stores mostly Target they jacked them up like we dumb so yesterday I priced match with Amazon not the barcode app
I’ve never seen that at target or Walmart
Charging more than retail?
@@dHuntersReviews Yup a few of them out here in the good neighborhoods do that
I just fought with Bane for 30 minutes until getting out the heat gun. Highly recommend.
Guarantee his legs still suck
Wow I was not expect all these issues I'm actually disappointed in mcfarlane toys for the first time
Their biggest fuck up so far in the line
@@dHuntersReviews Damian Wayne too IMO. Considering he is an acrobatic character... he can barely move and other figures have double joints, not sure why they didn't add? haha and it seems he breaks easily from what I have seen online and on some reviews his arms have snapped mid review haha
I am working on fixing Bane, we'll see. My Damian's legs popped out also, I think I can make him better. If you heated the figure up before and did the arms gently he would not break. I did not even have to do that, and no one should, but just saying. I am trying a couple fixes on Bane today.
Yes - I am disappointed also - I’m trying a few fixes - starting with painting the skin tone -
I’ve love to see that
God damn dude, this figure looks awesome sculpt wise...but why would they release it in this state? It's almost as if DC Multiverse is ripping off Marvel legend's BAFs....but without the effort time or love
It’s unfortunate
I got all those same figures already
You got Bane?
@@dHuntersReviews Yes I Completed my Set yesterday
I’m hoping to get a 2nd Bane to repaint
@@dHuntersReviews Or a better Body mold this was is to damn bulky and huge
I like the size, just doesn't connect together properly.
Be careful with the leg mine broke I just got mine today
Like broke, or just came back out?
@@dHuntersReviews illegit broke I had to glue it back on and not the leg piece that you have to connect it but the whole leg itself after I connected it literally fell right off the peg
Interesting, I’d love to see a picture
Another disappointing action figure which literally has no action. Why not just get a statue instead.
Just what is mcfarlane thinking? Is like one step forward 2 steps back. Comparing this with his spawn figure, this is like a joke!
Yeah, they screwed up big time
They should offer a new torso or leg piece if you email them
Not even sure which is the problem at this point
It’s just a flawed design
Really disappointed :(
Wish it had like WAY more articulation, hopefully they make a classic Bane with a new body that has great articulation
Yes please
Man this Bane is a 0 out of 10! Scale is off, sculpt relative to the source material is off, color relative to the source material is off, articulation is basically nonexistent, and it just falls apart. Got 2 torsos and 2 sets of legs and had issues with the legs connecting. Plus the hands don't stay in.
HOR!
RI!
BLE!
Otherwise this is an awesome wave! That Batman jumped to the top of the list for me. That Scarecrow is phenomenal as well. Omega is the dud and that's not really a bad thing.
The figures are fine, Bane is not.
You have 2 sets of torso and legs?
The figures are fine, Bane is not.
You have 2 sets of torso and legs?
@@dHuntersReviews I have 2 sets of the wave. That right leg wouldn't attach regardless of the combination I made. Oh and one of the sets had to separate legs, but both ended in a right foot. 🤦🏾♂️
My right leg is also more problematic
If I had 2 sets, I’d paint one of the Banes flesh colored.
I cant believe they couldnt make a good baf. The thing with the legs is so dissapointing.
Yeah, I think they can be slightly improved, but they are seriously flawed.
Glue on the legs and even the hands... we dont need that rotations anyway
Undecided some reason I still think I can fix him lol
I literally leave these comments every time, and I don’t know why I bother watching videos of McFarlane figures 😔😔 they literally keep disappointing me more and more and more. I haven’t bought a single figure since the first wave Smdh
I’d all say they are usually excellent.
single figures are quite fine, it seems the QC issues are with BAF figures
@@dvw7665 I haven’t been impressed even with a great amount of the single figures. Anatomy and scaling in his figures are way off imo. Damian’s too tall, Barbara is too tall, Batmans head is too small, Nightwings toros is too tiny, his arms are too shrimpy, his feet are like flippers etc.etc. Some of the stand alone figures have been really nice but over all mcfarlanes figures have just been disappointing me left and right
Just this one
@@prollydatboi8841 true i agree, its not the best in town now, but since DC Direct is no more, we will have to live with this line. I mean I used to collect all the DC icons figures, they were better than Mcfarlane from my understanding, but what can I say, this is what we got
WHY are there no green veins on this Bane?
Also, you should not have to change or fix anything on a figure..
Great size but bad execution....
Agreed
I still like hiM
But I should like him much more
Bloody heck, why’s his head so puny?
Because his body is so big
That head looks so tiny on Bane's body 🤣
Yeah, but that’s the least of his problems
If Articulation is an afterthought, then this is the result everytime. That's what you get with McFarlane. He should stick with statues and comics. But he wont, because people will still buy this junk no matter what.
This is his biggest fail in the line, the line is wonderfully articulated for the most part.
I was super excited for this figure but now that I’ve multiple reviews I’m probably not gonna pick this one up you can’t even put him in a pose to have him break Batman’s back truly disappointing
Yeah, that’s the first thing I wanted to do.
I have seen someone that cut a lot of the shorts out of the way, and was able to get him to do poses like that
You can get them for 19.99
Yeah i did it just like you
That’s the way to go
So basically the BaF was free.
You shouldnt have to F-ing glue em. I cant pick mine up without it falling apart!
Don’t glue it unless you want
I’ve seen some people cut the shorts so they stay in better and can actually move
This BAF was so poorly designed...yes I understand that your basically getting an extra figure for purchasing the other 4 but it’s still frustrating when the damned legs just fall off...legs should have pegs like the arms...imo
Yeah, epic fail
His skin color and small head are annoying, but he DOESNT STAY TOGETHER!!!
Jeez the head is super small.
He has much bigger problems
No pun intended
@@dHuntersReviews I might skip out on this wave if the other figures aren't good. I'm already happy with the bane figures I have.
Hot glue gun the parts you'll still be able to move the joints and you can still move the parts without parts falling off
Undecided
I still seem to think I can fix him lol
you focused too much on the legs, bad review
Bad legs
I found a fix for them though
When this guys talks 😴😬
