I have heard a statistic from a 600N pilot recently that said 50% of all 600Ns that have been built by MD (86 aircraft) have been destroyed in crashes, with a lot of those crashes being fatal, pretty damming stat really
Yeah the non-SAS machines are a real handful , the stabilised ones are much much better and can be very nice , but they are definitely not docile 206's
Hope MD's management get their shit together and do some much needed upgrades to their fleet, having a conventional composite tail rotor on the 600, a engine that has enough power for the 6 blades and updated avionics would be a start.
@@sladehelicoptersgaming3148 I have read that it has some delay, is that true? Looking at how it works it appears it would. I have developed my own 'no tail rotor' design that I believe will be much more responsive and have further benefits, but it will stop not provide feedback. Surely responsiveness would be more important than feedback?
The 600 looks too much like the older, cheaper models and it's a hard sell. The 902 at least looks like a whole different aircraft but it also costs more etc.

I did see at some expo or other an MD600 with a tail rotor, don't know if it was just a mock up or a real thing
I’ll take the Notar everyday over a tail rotor.
Beautiful! How did you feel flying a NOTAR?
I am not a huge fan but the 600 with the Y sas fly's really nice
Neither “test” in the other video, nor “messing” in this one. I guess you respect the owner.
You are not a fan of the Notar system, why is that, just curious?
Hi there I find it lacks the normal control and feedback you get from a conventional tail rotor

@@chippyjohn1 what is your design like
This model is not on the MD website, wonder why they stopped producing it, the 902 must be the better design.
