  • In this video we compare the OBSBOT Tiny 2 4K webcam and the OBSBOT Tail Air . The Tail Air is packed with connectivity options that will blow your mind. NDI, HDMI, USB, WIFI, Bluetooth etc..
    The Tiny 2 4K has a bigger sensor, greater image quality in my opinion, less connectivity options and I have to say this is the best webcam I have ever used.

    Great video, I'm looking at tracking motion in an olympic style sport fencing club. Camera ceiling mounted and, hopefully tracking the athletes as they move back and forth (side to side for the camera) on a fencing strip. At this point I just purchased a Tail Air for testing on one of our strips, but honestly am thinking that the Tiny 2 may be just as suitable for our needs since we are permanently mounting the cameras, wired power to them so the battery is unnecessary, etc. We are looking for connection to a tablet to control "instant replay" of the action, and displaying it on a 32" monitor above the scoring box located at the side of the fencing strip.

      Cool keep in mind the Tiny 2 is usb only so in order for your to monitor or record with it you need a computer or something that supports uvc with a cable connected directly to the camera which could be limiting if you aren’t in a studio setup, however the Tail air has many ways to connect it.. I hope the video was helpful

    Are you able to use a Rode Wireless Go II mic with the Tiny 2? And if someone is going to use this to record live workouts over Zoom, the Tiny 2 good for this?

    • @LiveProductionTips
      @LiveProductionTips  2 месяца назад +1

      The Tiny 2 doesn’t have a mic Jack if you wanna use an external mic you need to connect to a streaming software and sync with the video from the tiny 2. If you wanna use it for zoom works outs it’s possible just make sure you run through a software, in your case it would be zoom or OBS virtual camera if you wanna add some other scenes

    This was a great review. And, I agree, the image quality seems better on the Tiny 2. I also noticed some ‘choppiness’ with the image rendering on the Tail Air whereas the Tiny 2 seemed to be much smoother. Not sure if the ATEM is causing some of that.

    • @LiveProductionTips
      @LiveProductionTips  3 месяца назад

      The choppiness can happen when they are in auto mode sometimes they slow down the shutter speed to compensate for the light and usually that causes the choppiness but it’s likely to happen more with the Tail before the Tiny 2 because of sensor size difference. But it could happen to either if in low light. If you have enough light you good, also if you have time you can setup everything manually

    Greetings, man. Enjoy your content. Did you ever test the Tail Air directly via USB to the computer? The Atem is only 1080P so the video is being downsampled from 4K.

    Awesome review. Which one is better at tracking full body without clipping body parts. For example, in doing a yoga class production, you would want a camera to stay zoomed in on the person, but not clip hands if you are extending them above your head, or clip feet, if you are in a push up.

    • @LiveProductionTips
      @LiveProductionTips  4 месяца назад +1

      I would say either one would do a great job at tracking full body. They are both great at tracking it’s just a matter of setting them up for full body tracking which is easy. The biggest deciding factor would be connectivity & low light performance

    Question, Can the remotes work universally between the the Tiny 2 & Tail Air or would I have to purchase a remote for each one?

    • @LiveProductionTips
      @LiveProductionTips  4 месяца назад

      I believe they have different remotes so you would need to buy for each. The remote I have though can control up to 3 tails simultaneously.

    EEK! I just purchased the Tiny 2 and am now wondering it I should have purchased the tail. Your opinion would be valued greatly. At first at first I felt I needed a web cam to use with OSBI. allowing me to play video house tours running in the background well I present them in the foreground. Now I am wondering if it would be more beneficial to actually take the gadget with me to the property and record the property tour I'm currently using my phone Of course I need to up my video production. If I understood you correctly with the tail I can view footage on my phone while I'm at the property Without my laptop can I do this with the tiny?

      P.S. Someone also made a comment about HDMI being a deal killer for them. I have a lot to learn. Don't even know how important that is for me :/

    • @LiveProductionTips

      If the Tiny 2 does what you need then you should keep it but for sure the Tail Air will give you more options, you can take it out and record of course you can monitor everything from your phone. With Tiny 2 you always need a computer because it’s just a webcam

If I exchange for the Tail, do you feel the camera quality is significantly better than the iphone camera? If not, I will keep the tiny 2 and use it strictly as a webcam. Thank you for your help.
