Like your set up, definitely a more precise technique than mine. I just use zip ties on my handle with a bit of pink tape on the end to get to 18 one cut.
Thanks Ed. I appreciate it.
I was looking on Amazon and figured that I could make one between for cheaper. Hindsight, I should’ve left it a few inches longer so I could adjust it.
had to get you to 100 subs bro!
Awesome. Thanks
Just buy an extendable magnet like mechanics use. Paint the end orange if you like and adjust it to any length you need.
Tried that. Falls off easy.
Was thinking of making it adjustable by keeping all thread a bit longer, but I only have one stove I’m cutting for, so not needed at the moment.
@robertlena2 i don't know what you're doing differently, but that's what I've done for years, and I've got all my buddies turned onto it now, too. Works great, maybe adjust your technique.
We all like something different, I have a 20 inch bar and just use a known point on the bar when parallel with the log. (50 years exp cutting wood.)
Agreed. I have a small stove, so I need to make sure they fit or then I’m stuck cutting it twice.
Just thought it was cool to make something myself and got it quicker and a bit cheaper than Amazon.
I own the patent of the homemade measuring guide, my lawyer's will be in contact with you
to let you know how much royalties you owe me.
We just use 20" bars. It's 18" exposed chain.
I get it.
I needed to be a bit more precise since I have a 16” stove. I’ve cut too long and trimming already split wood is a nightmare!
