Very helpful! I've been getting good noise reduction results with Rawtherapee, but this will help in attacking dark vs light area noise. Thanks! And rawpedia is indeed awesome, good on you for referring us to it.
Funny thing that i found this video cause i had much noise in my images and then saw that we have the exact same camera with the exact same lens and the exact same problem xD
This video is a very clear and well explained tutorial for noise reduction. Thank you. Do you prefer this tool to using wavelets for noise reduction? Or do you have different scenarios where you prefer to use one over the other?
at 1:45 the "Poisson noise" should not be pronounced as the English "poison". Poisson is a French name: see en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poisson_distribution - where they explain how to pronounce: pronunciation: [pwasɔ̃]; in English often rendered /ˈpwɑːsɒn/),

I'm just discovering the RAW format and this has helped a lot to get a nice jumpstart with RawTherapee. Thanks a lot!
Your voice is quite soothing as well as educational
I thought the same
I'd been using noise reduction and getting blurring. Now I see why. Didn't know about the detail window either - very useful. Thank you.
If you are getting blurring, you might need to increase the detail preservation. When noise reducing the picture will always be a little more blurry
Jacob thx for an excellent , easy to follow tutorial

I don't have the demosaicing tool in my RawTherapee 5.8. I only have the option "Sensor with X-Trans-Matrix".
I didn't. Looks like this isn't available for Fuji RAWs.
