Want to say hi - I am following Roman for years now and want to say thank you for this short trip. Your pics are so great - love them. And a big „yes“ to your voice over. I enjoy it to hear your thoughts. .....Greetz from 🇩🇪
Just came from Romans video, honestly you two are my fave youtubers atm really enjoying your content so to see you hanging out together is awesome, great video guys😊
Really loving a lot of these shots, man! Also, the "no comment" definitely cracked me up; that dude absolutely knew he was about to end up in a video lmao
Even though you were using a 40mm, you still managed to snapshot so quickly and with sharp focused pictures! Did you do kind of zone focusing, like using F8 and setting the focus to 3m, or did you approximate the distance first and then quickly fine tune it in the viewfinder?
Beautiful shots! Love the commentary. I know these areas way too well but its refreshing to see it from your POV. There is also something about the film images that you just can't get with emulation. edit: love when you said "in street photographer walk, we walked a lot" because its true! Sometimes I find myself circling the same few blocks for hours and end back right where I started.
I have to echo clood 08's comments below.I can count the number of RUclips photographers that I subscribe to on one hand & have fingers left over.Great work Faisal !
Feels so great watching this video, I haven't been back on the street due to a self fiduciary quarantine, be back next week. Enjoyed this video and pictures you have taken. Now I'm swinging to Roman's YT channel.
Great video and pictures! What settings did you use with your Minolta? I'm struggling a little with mine :/ I should try something different and get another perspective :) Also, would really like to see your scanning process... I haven't scanned any film yet. Just archiving them for the moment :)
You were on fire for these images man. Were you zone focusing with film or you that good at manual focusing? The backgrounds seemed pretty out of focus which is why ask.
7:36 I think the light is really cool in this photo, the way the light falls on the road behind the man & the cab making a kind of ripple effect on the road surface which has the illusion of an uneven surface when in fact it's flat.
Would love to see a video on your negative developing process. Also some thoughts on best approach for those who don’t have this kind of at home set up. Also I’m new to your channel but loving the content, inspired me to pick up my camera again.
Bought your preset back about a week ago, just to support you a little. Not a fan of presets in general, so I never expected to use them. However ever since, I use your presets as starting points very often. Absolutely love how versatile they are for the street stuff I usually shoot.
Hi Faizal, I'm wondering what you do with all the portraits afterwards? Are you actually allowed to publish them like in books or so? I always wanted to do something like that, just wondering on the streets and capture whatever I want but I hesitate about the GDPR restrictions... Curious about your thoughts on this, Thanks for the nice content, G
Faizal talks about the X-E4... as I'm sat on my phone looking to trade my old M50, the lenses and my super old 450d, to find the money to get one myself... I'd be interested to see if you prefer the 35mm vs the new 27mm pancake? 👀
Always looking forward to your new videos coz they’re all so good! So stoked for the xe4 content next week, just seeing a bit of it in this one excites me! Can’t wait to see more 🥳
Faizal, I literally came across your channel a week ago, from one of Roman's videos, and I'm hooked. I love you style and you're such a likeable person :)) I just love your photos
Nice job on this video! I enjoy tagging along and the commentary to go with it. I like the images. The CLE and 40mm are one of the last kits on my 'Do Want' list. Keep the great content coming! Those colors look amazing.
amazing photos, if possible can you share the film setting recipe for the color photos that you took onthe XE-4 for the guy with the purple hat, thank you!
Out of Curiosity, if you could only keep the X100V or the XE4 which would you go with ? I have only the V at the moment, but I find myself missing the 50mm fov. So swapping to thw XE4 with the 35f2 and 50f2 has been reallly tempting me.
been watching romans channel (and love it)for ages too. But for some peculiar reason, everytime i watch his videos, i get really dehydrated because he sounded like he's huffing n puffing lols
How do you take photos of people without them noticing, everytime when i try to do street photography i get this awkward feeling of what if they look towards be while taking photo and end up getting beaten😂
Holy cow. My 2 favorite street photographers having a collab. Awesome! Great to see you back Faizal
The light is just magical!
I just love your eye and the things you see. A delight for our eyes ✨
the light situation here is just perfect

your excitement at 8:15 was awesome 🙂 that’s a great shot 📸
Love the look of the Portra for street photography, and the framing with the ripped cloth. Thanks for sharing!
I always enjoy to watch your street photos! Congrats! Sunny greetings from Brazil!

This is like daredevil and ironfist coming together! I love it!!!

Dude, such a stunning capture at 3:18

Which POV camera did you choose for this shoot? And how did you mount it. Thanks in advance for your help
Loved the images and your style.
Hi, seems your gopro took wonderful shots either. Do you take stills out of it too ?
Inspired for my NY trip tomorrow, def would love to see your scanning process!
These CLE shots are my favourite shots of yours so far! Great work.
Keep it up
great episode man! the colours are beautiful. I love image 4:14 go the gentleman in his hat. The shadows in the background make the image really pop

Great video Faizal. I love the way you explain your approach to each shot. Btw which version of GoPro are you using?
Bought your preset back about a week ago, just to support you a little. Not a fan of presets in general, so I never expected to use them. However ever since, I use your presets as starting points very often. Absolutely love how versatile they are for the street stuff I usually shoot.
I'm so glad you've been enjoying them!!

Thanks for the nice content,

Faizal at what stage is the decision made of processing colour or black and white?
This is great! I enjoy both of your videos, so great to see you doing a collab! Awesome shots in an awesome city. Nice work. Thank you! 📷🏙
Yes please make that video about scanning film!
that shot at 7:00 I was sure you were going for the shapes, shadows on the chair etc, but you focused on the rising steam
Incredible work as always 🙌🏾🙌🏾

That lighting though 👌🏼
Are you using the go pro 8 and would you recommend it in 2022 for doing pov videos…
When you were using the minolta cle, did you use the shutter speed in automatic mode?
welcome to NYC! there is always something going on. thanks for the effort and sharing. i am an appreciative subscriber. thumbs up.
I like that recap thing at the end!! You should definitely do it on all your pov videos
Great video once again! Can you tell me what brand your fleece is? Thanks!

Great Video! It feels like it could've been easily twice as long though. Definitely would have loved to see more 😁

What made you decide on the Minolta CLE vs. a Leica or other rangefinder film cameras?
i.e. Contax G2 (?)
Fun times! 🙏

Bryant park is also a decent place to capture other people capturing events during the Manhattan henge equinox and solstice...
As a street photographer do you ever have people or models in your photos if so how do you get them
DSLR negative scanning? Yes!
Excellent!
These pics belong in a magazine
Sublime!!! À la Saul Leiter.
been watching romans channel (and love it)for ages too. But for some peculiar reason, everytime i watch his videos, i get really dehydrated because he sounded like he's huffing n puffing lols
