Probably my favourite track of all time. So basic, yet always exciting. It's a good thing that it's only a 10 min loop because i could go on jamming for 10 hours and forget to eat, sleep and go to work.
+Seb Perfake You can use the Melodic Ascending (jazz minor) over Am6 to avoid the F-natural clashing with the 6. You can get away with A dorian as well if you want to have a little less tension (I find jazz minor can be a bit jarring).
Thank you again for this track. It helped me with my improvisation. What's funny. Messing around with this video, it made it easier to learn Les Paul's solo in The World is Waiting for the Sunrise

Oui c'est un peu du ronchonnement mais j'ai remarqué qu'un accompagnement peut laisser libre ( par exemple je peux jouer A7 sur A- et la couleur s'imposera) ou imposer ( si joue A- sur votre A7 je sonnerai hors sujet, et pourtant....). Rien de grave mais c'est mon vécu. Du moment que ça swingue. 😂
I didn't understand what it meant either, but after watching other videos similar to this one I've concluded that they mean to play the chord before it for another bar. For example, at the beginning it says A6 and then the "%", so we play A6 for the first and second bar. Then comes the chord change, the D6, which is played for two bars, and so on. When it's the change between A6 and A7, you can tell that you play A6 for only one bar, and the you change to A7. I hope it's a bit clearer now. Cheers.
Dont use scales too much, they're good for orientation but once you stop using your brain and start using your fingers gypsy jazz gets much easier to play IMO.
Well the scales have to be muscle memory to play guitar. But gypsy jazz/ Django style is largely about ornamented arpeggios so get the arpeggios down. And (most difficult for me) getting right hand gypsy pick technique down makes it sound authentic and gives it that snap and articulation that makes it sound so good. Scales are an abstraction away from "music". You never play scales in a solo but you use all the notes in those scales. And of course all of this takes a long time and a lot of practice. Learn your scales, go look up enclosures on arpeggios, mordents, and learn arpeggios and you'll do fine. Best of luck.
