yes to more guns, when i joined up we were still using 20mm oerlikon and 40mm bofors before we transitioned to 20mm gambo and 30mm GCM, it was just a balls ache humping it up 7 decks (former matelot too !)
Promoting RN careers is great but no mention of the 40 admirals and 71 commodores? My favourite sounding commodore ‘job’ is Head of Royal Navy Culture Centre. Sweet gig, guilt edged pension.
Is that the royal navy thay can't use it's aircraft carriers because it hasn't enough support ships or staff? How about the number of aircraft on it....? Are there more than 10 jets?
You need more guns. Engaging drones with £500,000 and £1,000,000 plus missiles when you carry ao few is ridiculous. Twin turrets and at least two each of 127mm and 57mm for medium to extreme close range air and surface capabilities.
@Markus117d the 127mm/5inch can reach over 20+ km against AA targets. Neither the strait of Hormuz, Bab Al mandab strait, the Channel or the strait of Malacca is more than that.
God bless the Royal Navy!

Aye Aye Admiral General Aladeen. 😁
@@mac2626 you're a fool.
I think the navy know what they’re doing.
Guns & Systems like Phalanx can't provide defence for other ships which aren't close by, Hense the use of longer range missiles when necessary..
